^^ yeah, they say that, and then they proceed to shit all over us the rest of the time. Them hyping Wilson up so damned much now when they didn't even know his fucking name last year is how they are shitting on us. RW was just as good last year. he just played for us, and the media hates us

truth.

and they may not all be killing TOB yet, but I have certainly heard folks question it on national tv. The more Wisconsin wins and we suck ass, you can bet the salacious gossip/shitty newsreporting angle will kick in and it will be a big story.

right, being dismissed for being a fucking criminal and heading to a junior college and ultimately moving on to another school is exactly the same situation.

Don't confuse bad playcalling with quitting. Say what you will about the coaching staff, but the guys were giving 100% this game unlike Cincinnati. Would love to see where we "quit".

Why would any elite athlete go here when they can get preferential treatment anywhere else. The only way smaller programs are able to lure elite athletes in is by giving them illegal or preferential treatment. It may not be "ethical" or "clean" but thats the reality. Unless you are alabamas or notre dames, elite athletes must be accommodated.

I normally wouldn't post a piece from WRAL's Tim Hall, but this little tidbit raised the ol'eyebrow... notice to Archer?

Quote :
"But if N.C. State is going to be able to pull off a late season push, it has to get back to the motto that O'Brien implemented when he became the coach — 'Don't talk about it. Be about it.'

And that message extends to the coaches as much as it does to the players.

"The emphasis is that we're all in it together. It's the coaches and the players," O'Brien said. "You can't talk and tell a kid to do it. You have to make it happen on the practice field. And if you make it happen there and it doesn't happen on the game field, then there has to be accountability.""

Yeah, that sounds more like TOB's "blame the players for not succeeding in spite of our defensive gameplan."

If they're doing well during practice and then during the game things go awry, well at that point you have to question whether or not you're practicing the right things.

this really is not a troll attempt, and clearly most everyone on here knows i'm a big clemson fan...

i just wanted to point out this difference in coaching personality...and one speaks pretty directly towards the attitude of the other (especially if you listen to what TOB is saying in the video after beating Pitt) Watch Video #1 2:10mins into the video especially...then watch #2 lol.

Im sure this has already been mentioned, but TOB is getting hammered by the sports media for letting RW go.

One guy, I forget who, was like "I respect TOB sticking to his principles, but gotdamn he let one of the best QBs in the country just walk away"

This gets back to the point someone already mentioned, that sometimes if the athlete is good enough, you need to at least try to accommodate them without showing blatant favoritism.

^^^ I would bet that same guy $1,000,000 that he wouldnt even know who Russell Wilson was if he was still at NC State. Where has this guy been the last 3 years? Everyone in the ACC knew Wilson was a player but the media completely ignored him. Why wasn't he hyping Wilson during this time? Basically, the media is Monday morning QBing the entire situation.

Why not praise TOB and state for taking a basically no-named recruit and developing him into the best QB in the country?

If they're doing well during practice and then during the game things go awry they all break their feet, ankles or legs, well at that point you have to question whether or not you're practicing the right things wearing the right shoes.

lol at TOB "developing" RW into a good player

hell, if anything, the coaching they gave him made him worse in his second year. he was clearly overthinking every play instead of just going on instinct. hated watching that shit. the Miami game his freshman year was incredible. he didn't make plays like that nearly as much after the first year (yes I realize he was at bigger risk of getting hurt on running plays. but you could tell when he was reacting late to things because he was coached to be a pocket passer in his last two years)

Wilson's gonna be awesome in the NFL

Think of all the head coaches that let a 5'10" sixth-round pick do anything he wants under center

Kid is gonna thrive

He's most definitely on the hot seat. If the season continues to go down the drain, (this was the easy portion), Yow could make the case for dismissal based solely on a pathetic 5 year win/loss total.
