There is a US National Team thread here...

message_topic.aspx?topic=512628&page=53

None of the practices are open to the public. I know the Railhawks were trying to get one open to the public (like the did last time the national team was here) but I haven't heard any news about that yet.

Not only that, he's now trying to sweep it under the rug.

Quote :
"Crisis? What crisis?

...The ethics committee have returned their decision. I have no right to comment on it. But there have been one or two points of which I want to inform you. The EXCO was very pleased to receive the report of the FA regarding the allegations made by Lord David Triesman against four FIFA committee members.

We were happy that we can confirm that there are no elements that would even prompt any proceedings, but for the sake of transparency, but we have agreed that a comprehensive summary of these would be published. The summary can be read on FIFA.com.

Furthermore we were happy also that we haven't received any evidence from the Sunday Times or from any announced whistle blower with regards allegations against two other EXCO members. Therefore the same - what shall we do? Nothing. The World Cup 2022 is not touched, nor is the World Cup 2018."

tl;dr summary: We filed your complaints into the trash bin. Thanks for playing.

This whole thing is starting to reek to high heavens. I'm starting to hope for a multinational withdrawl/boycott in 2022.

Was there even an inquiry opened on Blatter or just on the other two? Not sure how he escaped it this time. FIFA is ridiculous and Qatar having a World Cup is laughable.

"I know it doesn't exactly fit in here, but I didn't want to create a new thread...does anyone know if the US team practices in Cary are open to the public? I don't watch the local news much, but I haven't seen a peep out of the local media about the fucking US Men's soccer team practicing for a week in Cary."

There was an invite only practice today where some supporters of US Soccer were able to attend, but I believe the count was very low (under 100). Haven't heard anything from the Railhawks yet or my local press connections but then again I haven't pressed to hard to attend like I did last time.

I wonder where they put the team up...don't know if US Soccer has the money (or would want to spend it) for a week for the team at the Umstead. Jozy was talking about dinner the other night at Bonefish which is right across the street from there, so it could be a possibility.

What always blows me away about the US team is the discrepancies in pay between players and leagues. You have guys like Donovan making over $1M in the MLS playing alongside Tim ream making $62k. Of course there are the EPL guys making $3M+...

Well, he's not exactly a front runner with Man City, Arsenal, whoever else, and now Hearts.

A bandwagon third placeish fan it would seem.

Hahahah holy shit. They let that play another game for Brazil? I absolutely need to see the highlights. And by highlights I mean Ronaldo running.

Seems like it would be pretty embarrassing figuring the guy was one of the best players to ever grace the field.

I think his hyperthyroidism makes him fat like that. Looks like he only played 15 minutes and it was recognized by everyone involved that it was his "farewell" match, so more of a gesture of appreciation for his career than any hope of him being competitive.

I've been following the Bundesliga, but mostly online. Glad I can actually watch some games now on tv. Been enjoying the Oh my Gol! show.
