I'll make sure you don't get locked out of them while I work on it. I just want to match the functionality of the current system. It's a simple concept, but the new mod over complicates simple tasks to theoretically make hard tasks easier.

1.4 update:
* Added tameable wolves
* Added cookies
* Sleeping in a bed now resets your spawn position
* New Minecraft logo
* Holding shift while climbing will hang on to the ladder
* Spiders will no longer trample crops
* Lots and lots of infrastructure for Statistics lists and Achievements

new bug:
* beds don't reset your spawn position (or so I hear)

I hope they fixed some bugs too. My server has been springing some pretty serious memory leaks in the past couple weeks.

usually you only need a new map if the update has to do with how the terrain/ores are generated... like biomes

otherwise, you should be fine

My launcher re-downloaded itself upon opening tonight. Now I can't get any of the options to even bring up a the Minecraft game window... anyone else experiencing this?

obcline and I started fooling around on the dekciw.net map. It's up and running if you just go through the normal launcher. We found a random chest that was lit up on the beach. Clicking on it actually opened up a screen asked if you wanted to go here or not http://www.minecraft.net/store/loot.jsp. This is a joke, right?

dekciw.net works. However, it's a (I'm assuming) fresh map. I'm pretty sure dekciw.net has been running all along. It just hasn't had our map with all of our work on it.

So, basically, (if our normal map is still down) we have a fresh map to play around with (without mods) that is on the 1.4 update.

This is the problem I had. Had to uninstall the launcher, go to the launcher's website, and download it again.

The dekciw.net server is just one I threw up out of boredom. It won't be sticking around.


I'm working on getting the main server updated now. I've found a "good enough" solution to the vault issue I think. I'm also going to try to set up a multiworld system to bring in some of the new materials that aren't in the current play area; plus the nether. We'll see how it works out.

After the update I'll give Pirate full admin status on the server, and try to find another mod to help out. We are going to have to re-do the vault warps, but it shouldn't be a big issue. None of your things will get lost, just the warps; at least until they are reset.

Once I have the configuration done I'll take the server down, clear off some space, and start it back up with the new system. I'll ask for a little patience while I'm tweaking everything to work properly.

I'd be happy to mod, as much as I'm on there it seems to make sense.

Also, dont worry about down time, we all do this in our spare time, and as of right now i dont think many of us can even connect to the server because the mvctool launcher is horked.

Just appreciate the work and time and money you're putting into this so we can all enjoy it

^^^ I can switch the dekciw.net server to pvp if it isn't already. I've got no problem leaving that one running for the time being.


Also, if anyone is interested; I'm starting up a new gaming community for casual players (along with ttt50xx). We are looking to get as many people from as many different games as possible. The hope is to let people who usually play solo or in a small group have a large number of people to play with, and a vent server to communicate.

^^As the demographic for your site, i'll say i dont have much interest in it. I like tdub because I can play the occasional game I do play with people I already have some interaction with.

It's much more fun playing with people you know (even if its just via the interwebs) than joining another community with another bunch of random people. Tdub is the only forum I am even semi-actively involved in anymore.

We are setting it up because of the issues we have with trying to get people we know in games. Most of the people we know who play the same games we do are very inactive, or often busy. I'd rather play with someone in ventrilo or from a community than randoms. ;D

to my knowledge, the launcher is currently screwy. If you want to play on the temporary map, log in through the website or use the original minecraft launcher (not the one we downloaded after beta launched)

The server won't require a launcher when it goes back online. I just decided to do this at a bad time. The update broke all the plugins, so I've been waiting for them to get patched so I can get things running right.

btw the reason the launcher doesnt work is because digiex stopped using the windows exe.

go get the Jar launcher http://digiex.net/minecraft/mcvtool and use it, it works just fine

Although it seems saturnine has taken the main server offline, cause it wont connect
