I think Battier kind of elbowed Westbrook in the face, maybe unintentionally, and out of frustration Westbrook slapped the ball away

Battier has been flopping on defense the entire playoffs (some would say his entire college and pro career) so I don't think the refs are going to be quick to do him any favors

I think Battier is underrated in some senses. He can also do well on offense.

That's typical for a young team.
They are the youngest final team in the past 5 yrs?

Even Celtics may be able to beat Thunder. They are too young.

Wade with the ball, 11 seconds in the quarter, dribbles until there are 3 seconds left, pass to Bosh for fadeaway 20 footer...brilliant

Now I'm waiting for all the people who overreacted to the first half to overreact to the second half and claim OKC will sweep

HEAT have talents, but lacks of killer spirit like KOBE.
Only two kinds of team can win finals, team led by a killer (Lakers) or team led by players eager for rings for long (Celtics, Mav)

MIA is younger than Spurs.
The coach should set some strategies to hold down KD and westbrook. These two are on fire.
They shouldn't try to score more than thunder. Instead, they should let thunder have less points.

Heat looked like the superior team tonight and then they panicked AGAIN.

WHEW. I can't figure out whether I should continue fading the math and playing the heat chokewave, or be happy with my win and close out now....

36/8/4 on 60% shooting with 16 in the 4th for the real MVP in his first ever finals appearance.

when people other than face refer to Oklahoma City's "Big 3" they include Westbrook in that bunch

Big 2nd half for Westbrook. I've never argued that he doesn't have the talent to play well, the argument is that he doesn't usually play well. Which is based on fact. See: the last two western conference finals

by your logic, Lebron doesn't usually play well, which is based on fact: See his last 2 NBA Finals

i don't really want to hate on Lebron though, OKC just has too much for the 2-man Heat...still laughing at Spoelstra for pulling Battier out of the game in the 1st quarter after he started the game 4/4 with 11 points and opened up the big lead for Miami

i also laugh at him thinking Battier can defend Durant 1-on-1, but maybe he doesn't want to get Lebron into foul trouble

The Heat, not just LeBron (obviously), have to finish. They panicked in the 4th.

And TT is right,

Quote :
" OKC just has too much for the 2-man Heat"

But if you had told me that Battier and Chalmers would combine for 29 (and shot 11/16), I would have definitely taken the Heat to win.

And LeBron shouldn't be guarding Perkins.

Obviously the Heat shouldn't be happy because they played like shit (again) in the 4th quarter and gave up a double digit 2nd half lead...but their big three weren't spectacular (Lebron played well...Wade/Bosh were crap), and they were still in it.

I think they take game 2. But Wade has to step it up.

HEAT needs someone like Perkins. Bosh is too skinny. LBJ is forced to defend big guy since he's the strongest guy in the team.

Someone suspend shoot.

Perkins didn't do shit last night. He was one of their few negatives in the +/- department. I like Lebron guarding him for the first three quarters, I just think he should be moved to Durant/Westbrook in the 4th.

Here's the thing with Lebron guarding Perkins...that's who they use to set their ridiculously illegal screens. So if Lebron is guarding him, he can switch off on Westbrook/Durant. Which is much better than having Haslem/Anthony/Bosh picking those guys up off the pick and roll.

It worked really well for 2.5 quarters. They aren't putting Lebron on Perkins because of size, they were doing it so they could switch off the pick and roll.
