even if the percentage of people with vitamin D deficiency was just a tenth (7%) of what it actually is, how is it ever funny to make fun of people with medical conditions, regardless of your age?

vast majority of americans (and people around the world) have either very vague (or none) knowledge of nutrition or indeed, false knowledge. that's a serious failing on the part of the governments and society as a whole.

My family goes through 2 lbs of Tillamook cheese roughly every 2.5 weeks. That's 0.8 lbs of cheese a week and 41.6 lbs a year. Our local Safeway sells a 2 lbs block of Tillamook for $14.39, and Costco sells a 2.5 lbs block for $9.29. Costco is further away.

Buying a year's worth of cheese at Safeway:

($14.39 per 2 lbs block + $0.95 gas per trip) * 21 trips = $322.14

Buying a year's worth of cheese at Costco:

($9.29 per 2.5 lbs block + $3.47 gas per trip) * 17 trips + $60 Gold Star membership = $276.92

I can get a Costco membership, buy only cheese, and still come out $45.22 ahead.
