I have no idea where my X Wing or TIE Fighter disks are. I bought the windows 95 version when they came out, but Lord knows where those CDs are. I did recently pick up TIE Fighter Collector's CD ROM (not the win 95 version, took some tweaking but now runs fine) extra cheap. I was just playing through it (got through a couple of battles, made third circle before finishing the second battle). TIE Fighter has been interrupted with San Andreas which I just got yesterday.

Are you talking about that suicide mission that Harkov sends you on? The one where you have to inspect the container and call for loyal reinforcements and stuff? That sucked, especially if you actually tried to clear the minefield. That was a bonus goal, but it was pretty much impossible to get all of those, because it involved killing a lot of TIE Advanced in just an Interceptor.]6/9/2005 2:33:47 PM |

2 questions: one contains spoilers...
1. what the heck is yoda? what kind of creature is he? As far as i can remember (could be wrong), there are no other creatures like him in the movies... and how did he become such a strong jedi...
2. in episode III, the chancellor/sidious requests order 66 or whatever. is that some sort of brainwashing technique or something? B/c all of a sudden the people that were helping the jedis started killing them.. unless they were under his command the whole time or something and the jedi didn't know it.. that confused me.. did they know he was sidious? 6/14/2005 12:27:33 AM |

they were all loyal to the republic
order 66 was telling them to get rid of the jedi, who were no longer loyal to the republic (the empire)
im sure one of the fanatics could give you a better answer though

No, I mean that pose where he holds the lightsaber over his head with his right hand and points at his opponent with his left. He strikes that pose during the rescue of the Chancellor and when he confronts Grievous. 6/25/2005 1:13:46 AM |

The first thing I thought of when I saw him do that was of the Kuji-In symbol for "rin." The Kuji-In has its origin in Japanese Samurai and Ninja, and is the practice of using finger symbols to focus spiritual and mental strength. There are 9 symbols, and "rin" stands for "strength of mind and body." The one-handed motion for "rin" looks almost like the Boy Scout salute, only with 2 fingers (index and middle) instead of 3. If you've ever played Dead or Alive or Ninja Gaiden, you'll see Ryu doing this motion fairly often.
And yes, I do have a minor in Asian history. I used to love studying all things about feudal Japan. 6/25/2005 2:40:25 AM |

Aha, I know the pose you're talking about. It's quite bad-ass. I like the way he starts to strike the pose, too. He gracefully brings his saber up and points at Greivous or his bodyguards.
The whole fight with Grevious had that Indiana Jones feel to it. I think the funnest was when the guards all try to jump Obi-Wan and he has a piece of machinery fall on them all and crush them. Reminded me of the Sword Guy in Raiders of the Lost Ark. 6/25/2005 10:03:14 AM |

Quote : | "This November 1st will be a landmark day for fans to celebrate the saga with two major releases in Star Wars home entertainment. The explosive and emotional finale to the saga,Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, arrives on DVD and Star Wars Battlefront II, the sequel to the most successful Star Wars game ever, arrives on Xbox, Playstation 2, Windows PC and Sony PSP formats. Lucasfilm and Fox Home Entertainment present a two-disc set for the Revenge of the Sith DVD, with uncompromising picture and sound mastered directly from the original digital source material. The DVD will include a brand-new full-length documentary produced by Lucasfilm Ltd. as well as two new featurettes -- one that explores the prophecy of Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One, and the other that looks at the movie's amazing stunts. A 15-part collection of Lucasfilm's groundbreaking web documentary series, Making Episode III, will also be included in the set. A two-level playable demo of Star Wars Battlefront II is also included on the DVD.
"Revenge of the Sith gave audiences an extraordinary experience, and we want this DVD to do the same," said Jim Ward, Vice President of Marketing and Distribution for Lucasfilm Ltd. "From the beginning of production, George wanted to be sure we chronicled everything that went into the making of Episode III specifically to create an incredible DVD experience. This DVD has literally been three years in the making, and it's going to be a fantastic way to complete the Star Wars saga at home."
In addition to its November 1st debut in the U.S. and Canada, Revenge of the Sith debuts on DVD in most major territories around the world on or about the same day.

New details have emerged about the DVD release. First of all, Ep. III will not be on VHS. That's pretty bold. It also won't be on PSP, which isn't as significant.

Quote : | "In the Easter Egg footage, Yoda creeps into frame, casts aside his trademark cane, and performs and impromptu dance to the tune of The Roots "Don't Say Nuthin'." While the clip is hardly substantial, it demonstrates an inescapable truth about Lucasfilm's efforts to revolutionize movie-making as we know it: even when we think we've figured out every last detail, extra, and bit of bonus material, their endlessly inventive staff offers up yet another new feature to catch audiences off guard." |
Who would think Lucas has even HEARD of the Roots?
Among the deleted scenes is a shot of Yoda arriving on Degobah:
Quote : | ""I loved that shot," continues McCallum. "It's a beautiful, beautiful moment, and I'm hoping one day as he's tinkering away doing the revised version" - a comment that elicited more than a few uneasy chuckles from the audience - "that he'll think about putting it back into the film, or if nothing else, I'm very happy that everybody gets a chance to see it now." I never could figure this one out. They didn't do a good job of proving that. He basically gets it handed to him by roaches and an 85 year old in e2. Then he gets revenge on the now 88 year old and a few children. Then he gets it handed to him by a jedi that is in his 40s and has never won a legit fight.
