SlipStream and I had some pretty good rounds last night. There was a guy flying the Cobra on Kubra Dam that was insane. If he got on your tail you were dead, neither of us could shake him. I saw him doing some crazy ass moves in the chopper that made it look like he was out of control and about to crash, then somehow he would pull it back level and fly away. Probably one of the better Cobra pilots I've seen.

Finally got my Knife Badge last night. I just never took the time to really worry about it, but then I noticed it was the only basic badge I had left to get, so I went nutty on Karkland...9 or 10 in a round...for good measure. Funny thing is I almost got my basic and vet in the same round.

And I like how BF2S has updated progress bars on all the awards...nice to know it's only 800 or so days till I get my sharpshooter medal

the little bird is hot but feels a little squirly some times, and can be a little light when you try to set it down on a surface. doesnt settle quickly or something.

the optical zoom on tanks/apc is awsome and feels pretty legit. a bradley high mag IRL is about that level.

it is also sooo overpowered when hunting snipers in buildings

install it, run it from its own desktop icon. hit the multiplayer tab and there is usually 3-4 servers up running.

I dont believe any mod servers are ranked....but who gives a shit anyway? Playing on ranked servers just limits you to playing the way EA wants you to accumulate meaningless rank and awards. Play on unlocked servers and you can have all the weapons you want. Its about having fun, not trying to earn shit. I've actually gotten tired of BF2 and Im playing Forgotten Hope for BF1942.

The problem is that there's a balance between reality and fun. If you make a video game 100% realistic no one is going to want to play it. That's the problem with America's Army, they tried too hard to make it as real as possible and it killed the gameplay.

I think 1 rocket taking out a helicopter in this game is too much. If you are going to do that, then you need to add a strong optical zoom with night and/or heat vision on the chopper so the gunner can take out the enemy from a mile away like IRL.

Now I do agree that 4 ATs to kill a tank is wrong. I don't know if it's possible to code the game this way, but if you could have a rocket that hits the treads to disable the tank's ability to move that would be cool. The turret would still function but it just couldn't drive anywhere.

Yeah, the four rockets vs a tank pisses me off...same way as a TOW doesn't always kill on one hit (got my TOW ribbon last night!)

if there is just one thing to fix, it's the bunnyhopping...seriously, the guys in counterstrike took care of it...I'm tired of coming up on some guy and see him start jumping every which way and firing off his 203/30 rounds every which way.

oh yeah, it also pisses me off that a guy can jump, go prone and start shooting his PKM before he ever hits the ground...needs a DoD like right click to mount it up

The best thing to do with a knife is:

A) Sneak into their main base and just keep finding/knifing their commander while he is pre-occupied with the command screen (most likely he will catch on after a while)

B) Find a 24/7 64-man Karkand server, choose MEC and hide behind that little fenced area in front of the first hill and knife people when they run through. Alternately you could be USMC and sneak into the hotel flag area and try and come up behind people.

C) Find a Wake Island 24/7 (This map usually has lots of snipers), preferably a 64-man server with less than 20 people in it (high ticket count = long game).


Either way, you're k/d ratio will probably decrease.

I have gotten most of my knives by coming up from behind a flag. After enough playing, you should know the spawn points around a flag...take cover and wait for the spawn. Most people hesitate right after a spawn, so you can knife them pretty easily.

I just got kicked because too many of my team mates were complete dumbasses and didn't see the giant red skull that shows up when you walk near a claymore. "Red skull? That looks friendly. Maybe there is a pie or some other tasty treat hidden in this small claymore-like casing." Idiots.

On the plus side, I FINALLY got my staff officer ribbon and had a few awesome rounds owning the skies. There were a few guys that had an interesting tactic... they were obviously in a squad and they had a transport chopper hovering WAAAAAAAY high above the USMC carrier. They would spawn in the chopper (mostly as spec ops), parachute onto the top part of the carrier and throw C4 down accordingly. It was very frustrating, but they were easy pickings for my knife.

Also I randomly selected a Christian team server and some guy almost got kicked because his clan tag was "mofo." He was all like "God is my commander. Jesus will guide my missiles," so they let him stay. Even though everyone was laughing at the obvious sarcasm I don't think the admins figured it out. All in all a good night on the battlefield.

i think i am banned from the kamikaze server
i went on there once and in a massive string of bad luck and bad aim i tked too much and since then (it was a long time ago) every time i try to play there i get kicked for tking after like 5 minutes even if i didnt tk at all

ive been getting a lot of basic medals by trying new stuff
i got the support badge
the medic badge
and the medic combat badge
i didnt know i was such a kick ass medic but when i got the medic badge i won that same round by mostly healing and reviving
i also got my staff officer ribbon i was really suprised apparently im doing a kick ass job as a squad leader as well

Get this...EA deleted some of the IP's from their ranked server database by accident....so the round I had as a commander w/ 75 cdr points and the staff officer ribbon didn't get recorded....pisses me off so badly

but the servers still appeared as ranked....be careful out there
