Didnt know John Wall was listed as a 5-star recruit, and the #2 point guard in his class, until today when i took a peak ... Has this been there for very long?

That would be a HUGE pickup for us... We should have people at all his games doing NC State cheers and cross court WOLF-PACK chanting ...

He and Jordan Hamilton together would really send this teams future up tremendously.

i would totally be down for that, getting a group of twwers to go to these games.

and i was just looking at our prospect list. it's great to finally see north carolina in the schools of interest of these prospects we're going after.

I believe they updated the class of '09 about a week ago. PPP has been saying for a couple weeks that we should expect that kind of ranking. It just took some time for all the other rankings to be worked out. Wall is for real.

Anything wrong with CJ Leslie? I saw a headline on Pack Pride's premium board about him being on the move.

How are things looking for John Wall and/or Noel Johnson?

Have we had any recruits visit so far this year?

evidently there have been some mysterious injuries so far this year. one of the assistant coaches called me thursday night and told me that they MAY have an open tryout for a few more bodies this year and to be on the lookout for big men. i haven't kept up with things in the off season, but have we had any major injuries?

Eh, a good chunk of PP content is just compiled from other places and published as "premium" info. A good rule of thumb is not to copy/plagiarize their own premium articles but don't hesitate to pass along information that is just out there.

It is in fact very difficult for sites like PP to protect their information for long because at some point it is difficult if not impossible to draw the line between premium content and generic rumors that may have come from any number of places.

I agree. I'm just saying there is a difference between original premium content and second-hand info. A good example would be an update on a recruit that came from and/or can be found in that recruit's local paper.

i.e. http://www.connectionnewspapers.com/article.asp?article=88175&paper=61&cat=105

Quote :
"Coming into the game, Westfield was averaging 38 points per game, and that’s the number they hit against Robinson. N.C. State-bound quarterback Glennon finished the game 14 of 19 for 164 yards. "At first we got off to a slow start, but then our line picked up. Receivers were just making plays. I was throwing short routes and they were just breaking it," said Glennon, who added a rushing touchdown to his two passing."

I don't currently check PP, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was a premium "Mike Glennon Update!" that came straight from the article.

The only reason why a top rated recruit should ever go to Miami for basketball is to have immediate playing time and be the star right away at an ACC school, or go fuck beautiful models in South Beach.

"University of North Carolina and Duke University basketball fans are not used to their favorites being told "no" by recruits, but it happened a couple of times last week.
Greg Monroe, a 6-foot-10 center at Harvey (La.) Cox, and the top-ranked player in the class of 2008, chose Georgetown over Duke.

On Thursday, Iman Shumpert, a 6-4 shooting guard in Oak Park, Ill., chose Georgia Tech over Marquette and UNC.

Was that done in order of votes, or is that just a by position "1st Team" list that we are used to seeing ... you know, 1center, sf, pf, pg, sg....

Pretty sure that's just popularity, because there are two PGs on the first team.

[Edited on October 22, 2007 at 9:47 AM. Reason : actually, 3--I was thinking of Singletary more as a combo guard]
