I'm really not sure he knows what to do out there, he seems almost lackadaisical on the sidelines, I never see him get fired up or tear into his players for being sloppy or slow, and that attitude wears off on his players

It's funny our lack of depth actually made him seem like a better coach last year by preventing him from running his debilitating substitution system that he has this year, we actually developed a little team cohesion and unity when your coach isn't substituting an entirely new lineup every 5 minutes

Guard is an issue, but it's one we knew about all year. Rebounding and costner have been the unexpected let downs. Fells hasn't really improved, and grant disappears.

At the William & Mary game, I remember thinking that our offense looked clueless, not fluid whatsoever. Even though we won that game, I was kind of concerned that we looked so shitty in the process.

I don't think I've seen a single improvement in this team since that game. And all of that blame should be put on the coaches.

Bobby Lutz is pretty set at Charlotte and probably wouldn't leave his gig to come here....He is an okay coach but no better than Herb. Chris Lowery is coaching at his alma mater at SIU so little chance there. A short-term or quick fix solution could seriously be Bob McKillop, who I have joked about, but would honestly love to have. He could bring Curry with him. Curry BADLY wanted to play ACC ball but none would offer him. VT wanted him to walk on. He could sit out and have 2 years left. McKillop could be our 5-10 year solution till someone else is ready.....ala TOB.

I completely get the whole "this is an NCSU board, so it's cool for us to talk shit about our team" thing, but a lot of you guys on here are fucking ridiculous. Two years?! Two years, and you guys want him ousted. Amazing and sad at the same time. Do we suck? Yes. VERY MUCH. But seriously... two seasons?? OK, I think I'd like to see him more animated as well... but it's not like he hasn't been. I can vividly remember during the UNC game, when we threw up (another) ill-advised 3 (that wasn't part of the designed play), and Sid was jumping up and down going crazy about us not getting back on D. UNC ended up with a non-contested layup. Again. The players say in interviews again and again and again... that they need more intensity, need to play 40 mins, need to do what coach told them to do...but didn't. So if a player tells you (through the press) that coach Sid told them to do "A" and he/they did "B"... how the hell is that the coach's fault? Now I may be naive to this, but I think back to being a kid. If my mother told me over and over not to touch the stove... even demonstrated how hot it was... and I still touch it - is that my mom's fault. In my book, NO.

As far as the game strategy goes, sometimes there are things going on I don't understand. But I also recognize that there are probably things going on that I have no clue about. Maybe Javi said he was exhausted or tweaked his ankle or whatever... so then we see Johnson in there screwing up. Or maybe others were shitty in practice or weren't feeling good... so then we see Ferg. in there screwing up. The point is, I don't know everything. And I'm OK with that.

Do we have some talented players? Sure, but let's be honest people. None of our players are THAT GOOD. Most of them have had their game or two to shine, but none of them are pure stars. Hickson? He's decent. Not excellent. He has weak hands and makes crappy decisions with the ball. Grant? Decent. Can be clutch at times, but can also have 4 points, 2 assists, and 9 TOs in a game. Not a star. Fells? Same thing. He has his moments, but can go ice-cold for 10 mins at a time. Not a star. You get the idea. Think about it, we don't have a Singleterry, Lawson (hell, Thomas for that matter), Rice, Nelson, etc. No one on our team has the consistant skills and determination to carry our team. As much as I HATE UNC (especially Hansblow) no one with a fucking brain and any knowledge of bball can deny that he is MONEY 98% of the time. Fuck his will and all that bull... getting 25-30 points on a regular basis is key to them being as successful as they are. WE DON'T HAVE THAT RIGHT NOW. My point, our team sucks because we are just not that good. Javi can play his heart out and would still get schooled by damn near every starting PG in the league. We need time. We need better players. We need players that actually give a shit about winning. Probably my biggest issue with Sid, is that Costner is a waste of space most games, but still gets major minutes. Who knows why.. but like I said, you never know what's going on behind the scenes.

Sorry for all the words, but if you've read this far, I'll just say this. Calm the fuck down and give the man and his team some damn time. If he is here long enough to have a team full of HIS players, that are sold on playing HIS way... and we still blow ass, then fine, fire him. But until then, act like a goddamn fan and support your team. Win or Lose. I love this school either way.

our talent is good, just very under-performing. we've got a truckload of big guys and nobody who can get the ball inside to them. how many times did we see them try that play with ferguson and mccauley last night? ferg takes it on the right wing, passes to mccauley, back to ferg, etc, etc. granted, it worked sometimes but it was predictable and VA eventually caught on and stopped coming off of ferguson. just no guard talent at all makes all the inside talent worthless.
