It could be where only TE's get PPR while recievers don't

I've seen leagues where TE's get slightly more credit per reception, like maybe .6 vs .4, to make them a little stronger compared to WR's

but never to the extent that they would be at the top of the league

It's a somewhat complicated system. Basically the commissioner wanted to make them a bit more valuable and overshot it, buy a good bit. Basically it works like this for WR and RB:

Receiving Yards: 51 - 999 ReYds = 3 points for every 25 ReYds
Plus a 3 point bonus @ 50+ ReYd
Receptions: 7+ Recpts = 1 point for every 1 Recpt
Plus a 3 point bonus @ 6+ Recpt

TE:

Receiving Yards: 40+ ReYds = 2 points for every 20 ReYds
Plus a 3 point bonus @ 40+ ReYd
Receptions: 5 - 9 Recpts = 1 point for every 1 Recpt
10+ Recpts = 2 points for every 1 Recpt
Plus a 2 point bonus @ 4+ Recpt

thats really not that big of a difference

for example, if you hit 50 yards with both the WR and TE, you would get 9 points for the WR and 8 points for the TE

unless I'm reading something wrong

You wouldn't think so, but...last years top 10:

Brady: 384
Moss: 347
Witten: 334 (TE)
Gonzalez: 329 (TE)
Gates: 308 (TE)
Winslow: 296 (TE)
Braylon Edwards: 279
TO: 279
LT: 275
Westbrook: 264

Also, to add to it...the guy offering me McNabb, Moss, etc is tied with me for the lead in my division...the guy offering Witten, etc is not in my division (yes, we play 2 divisions)

Never been a fan of those wonky set ups with bonuses that kick in at certain yard/catch benchmarks

Also the long yardage TD bonuses are kinda screwy as well

If your dude breaks and 80 yard run for the score, he already gets 14 points...no need to give him 5 bonus points for the distance

^^ I agree...I've never liked the setup...but Im not the commish

My biggest issue with it has been that if you have a RB that rushes for 43 yards, and has another 20 receiving yards, he gets no points that day...that sucks

in one of my leagues, if the QB passes for over 399 yards, he gets 5 extra points...i have no beefs with that bonus

however running backs get a 5 point bonus when they rush for over 299 yards...which has never been done in NFL history

"Addai to miss 2-4 weeks

Joseph Addai is expected to miss 2-4 weeks due to a slightly torn hamstring, according to NFL.com. By the way, it has been revealed that Mike Hart landed on the IR with a torn ACL.

Dominic Rhodes will likely handle the starting role at running back while Addai is out, and should be scooped up if dangling on the waiver wire.

I picked up Rhodes in a league where I'm struggling at RB, but I didn't get him in my league where I actually have Addai

Right when Colston comes back, Addai goes out

Looking at the sched I don't feel too bad since this coming week is his only really sexy matchup vs GB

then he plays Tennessee, New England and Pittsburgh the next three games

^agreed.

But the point remains...he was most people's first round pick.

It's never a good thing to lose your first rounder for 2-4 weeks.

Ok, I got Rhodes, but I had to drop my kicker to do it. Thus, who would you drop:

Pittman
Brad Johnson -- picked him up to replace....
Delhomme
Kevin Smith
Cedric Benson
Sproles

I am leaning towards delhomme, but I know people are going to pick him up immediately. Obviously, smith, benson, and sproles arent viable starters, but they all get a huge bump in value if they become starters.

One of your running backs

If a qb, make it Johnson

He has one good matchup (this week vs STL) then 2-3 tough games till Romo gets back

Jake has a cake schedule the next month

I'd drop Sproles...it SEEMS like Ladainian is getting healthier and when LT is in there and healthy, Sproles just isn't a great play unless you get points for kick return YARDS

^seriously??

I was thinking about dropping benson since the bengals look disastrous and he has the least upside, but he is more likely to become the starter.

So, I've got both Boldin AND Fitzgerald in a 12 team league. Should I keep both and hope Warner throws his ass off every Sunday, or should I use one for his high trade value?

but ryan fitzpatrick will be throwing to ocho cinco...

bryant johnson because of o'sullivan? really?

Yeah I got lucky and put in the Rhodes request sunday as soon as he went down in one league, our waivers are only three days so I don't think many people had tried for him since the news hadnt broken yet.

Pick three:

Ryan Grant @ Indy(Indy has a poor rush defense)
Matt Forte @ Min(Vikings D is good but Forte has been my most consistent RB)
Brandon Jacobs @ SF(definite start here)
Steve Slaton @ Det(Detroit has a terrible defense)

Pick one:

Isaac Bruce @ NYG(has been very consistent to put up double digits until last week)
Marvin Harrison @ GB(he's been a no show until last week but plays a weak GB secondary)

Who should I start this week at my 2nd WR:

Vincent Jackson vs. Buf
Dwayne Bowe vs Ten
Bernard Berrian vs Chi.

Sucks having Fitzgerald on a bye this week; especially with Braylon Edwards deciding to finally start playing some football.

bench grant, Forte is the Bears Offense regardless who they play

Also, I win by listening to http://www.fftoolbox.com/index.cfm Some weekends I think I know it better than they do and I am always proven wrong. Never listen to ESPN thats for damn sure

^^^ Depends on where you are in the standings, I mean obviously if you are sitting below .500 with a bad chance of getting out, then no. Myself, I've been working on trading for the playoffs since a couple weeks ago, I just had faith my team would get me into position to make it there, right now I'm 1st in the league with a large difference in points, so I should be able to coast in.

i just traded steven jackson and boldin for LT and colston. pretty pumped about that move. i have grant, forte, and maroney (if he ever gets back to form) to fill the only other rb spot and needed a bigtime threat every week, LT. i already had fitzgerald, eddie royal, roy williams (should do well in Dallas) and muhsin at wr so adding colston is hoping that he returns to form to be my #2 guy behind fitz.

boldin is great, but fitz is better and i offloaded him while his value was high even though he has a mysterious injury that could linger. jackson is just questionable thanks to the sorry STL offense. i haven't lost yet and this is my only league, but i think it was a really good move, especially once the playoffs start.

For my second RB..

LenDale White @KC
Derrick Ward vs SF

I have Brandon Jacobs starting already, but it looks like LenDale is getting fewer carries. Ward I just have in case something happens to Jacobs, but he gets a decent amount of carries usually anyways and SF has a pretty bad run defense, although KC does have the worst in the NFL..
