^^ did you have someone make an inferno game and you joined with a new char and followed them around? I read somewhere somehow you can unlock difficulties by joining friends games or something.

no, i used the bug in Act 3, first quest where the catapult explodes and kills 10-13 mobs, restart game, do it again... terribly boring to do manually so i made a script to do it automatically

5 lvl 60s in under a week. gearing them up now via the Act 3 Inferno Underbridge Resplendent chest.

Finally got my barb through act 2 inferno solo. up to 46k HP, 9k armor and 750ish all resist.

Name is brontu#1407 if anyone wants to play.

Ok so me and some buddies had an odd occurence last night.

We did a butcher run, and completed the quest all the way up to the point of traveling to Act 2.

We all left the game to do various things. I resumed and headed into act 2. One friend joined on me and showed up in Act2.

The other two joined and were in Act 1 and one of them 'ended' the act and the countdown came up for all of us.

At the end of the countdown we were all put at the beginning of Act 3.

Needless to say we got roflstomped.

sounds like you were playing with begonias

Were you the barb as well? I think I was watching you guys play and facepalming the entire time -- she picks up & explores EVERYTHING, she'll be great at end game farming

I was surprised how cheap items were on the AH. I hit lvl 54 on both my Monk & WD and decked them out in awesome gear that will last me to lvl 60 for under 50k

Yeah I am playing a female Bard, I died a few times last night because I was tired as hell, and kept losing track of the mouse cursor.

Also, has anyone killed that Elite Scavenger in the scavenger den in Act 1 in Inferno yet? I am tried with several group of people and it was NOT HAPPENING.

You can find all the ingredients in normal mode for the normal staff.

in each mode after that you can buy the plans from the Act 3 vendor that stands near the followers _after_ you have killed Izual in that game.

In addition to the plans you need 200k, 500k, then 1million gold for nightmare, hell, inferno respectively.

hfgl!!

^ He talking about level 54 ... HAHAHA

No matter how good you think your gear is, until you play Inferno you have NO idea how much damage you can take and dish out. Trust me, that Gear might last you UNTIL level 60, but I will bet money you have to upgrade it.

Right now I care more about just trying all of the classes and builds than running through high difficulties and getting awesome loot, so I have 4 level 30-35 character but nothing really higher.

When I got hacked I had about 300k and it was all taken besides about 18k. But I've been pretty lucky finding yellow rings and amulets, which are extremely overpriced at the AH right now, so I've been able to make almost all of that back pretty quick.

was in a 3 person inferno group yesterday where a wizard completely tanked the butcher in a corner.

not quite sure how that works, but the person said they had stacked +All Resistance gear. Since then I have been moving over to gear with resist.

Trying to find the sweet spot between int/vit/resist. Had 45k health, have dropped down considerably since I moved to +All Resist

My friend said barbs are forced to stack resist and be meat tanks in Inferno. Not sure how true that is, but his friend has 1k resist and does no damage.

Wizards can get Blur (-20% DR) and be close to what melee classes get naturally (-30%). They also have a skill that gives them +40% armor and (runed) +40% resistance. If he just stacks resist and armor he could probably handle it.

Not sure what to do with my Wizard. Stuck on Belial and Inferno and may just cheat my way past him. Wizards have the 'you take 35% damage max rune' and it seems pointless to stack past ~300 resists / 30k hp with it. I could, but I'd have to triple my defense to get past that giant gulf for attacks to actually do less then 35% anyway. Or I could do stupid dps and accept that things will 3 shot me and Mortar and Vortex are both retarded.

Not sure where the vit/resist/armor sweet spot is. I've dropped as low as 25k health at one point to get to the 300 resist, and things in act 2 stopped breaking through Force Armor.

I am really enjoying hardcore so far.

I am a barb and I think melee is way OP in the early levels because its shocking when my health bar actually moves.

Whats the highest hardcore anyones has gotten so far?

If by "meat tank" you mean wading into a giant pack of monsters and never dying because your revenge/rends keep you alive as you're destroying everything around you then yes, that is a great way to get through Inferno.

Yes, you have to stack a shit-ton of +all resist, but the rest is just Str and Vit with MF mixed in. You just grab a 900+ dps 1H or a 1200+ dps 2H from the AH (800k-2M gold) and you're going to do fine. I made it through Act 1 Inferno front to back yesterday only dying once or twice and doing great dps.

Can someone explain to me All Resist vs Armor? I heard that 1 All Resist was worth 10 armor, but someone was telling me that All Resist is wasted if you don't keep it at 10% (or less) of your armor value. Sounds like bad math, but my armor is ~3100 and my resists are 450 and Inferno Act 2 farming is rather rough.

What is the best way to farm for gold? Do you really get more from Nightmare vs Normal? Seems like the drops aren't that different and the value for items isn't either. Any best places to go to farm?

Farm the Auction House. That is the best way to make money. Although, you need money to make money with that system. But once you do, that is the way to go. Zags has done better than me, but I've done well too. Up to 4 mil with a few things selling I'll be at 5. I think Zags was up to about 10 mil, bought lots of bad stuff, and is now convinced barbs suck and selling it all.

The difference between Act1 Inferno and Act2 is night and day. A few days ago my Wizard could take hits in Act1 and the cats out the freaking front entrance literally one shot me. Act1 Inferno is comparatively a joke.

Armor and Resistance both mitigate damage. I think it works better if one is much higher then the other -- if you take 50% armor damage reduction and 50% resistance reduction from a 100k hit, you'd take 25k. But if you do 60%/40%, you'd take 24k. 70/30 21k, etc. But obviously its much harder to get higher values of one or the other.

Also a dirty trick to farming money is having a 60 Wizard. Collect about 200% gold find, movement speed, 35 yards gold pickup, and the ice armor glyph that creates a 20 yard storm around you. Run around the entrance of the royal crypts for a minute. You make 10k a minute.

There's a super cheap low level legendary that gives you 7% movement speed and 14% gold find. Don't bother picking up items except Tomes and Blues. Teleport away from skeletons.

I did this for an hour and hated every minute of it. Better spool up half a season of TV and hope you can handle monotony. I think I need 8 hours of gold to get my gear up to killing Belial.

Just farm the front end of Act 1 Inferno. Plenty of gold, and good chance of lvl 60 yellows dropping that you can sell for a pretty good price. The ones that suck you just dust and use the mats to make better yellows you sell on the AH.

You can also farm the cellars in Act 1. The one has a chance for goblin, and elites if you want to kill, the other an elite that doesn't leave the room so you just range it down.

If you can get GF/MF for the one that doesn't leave the room it adds up fast. The other one has better loot if you can get a goblin or elite. Ran that over and over for a while and it adds up fast but boring.

I got through act 1 pretty easily completely solo as a 60 wiz (currently 27k hp, 24k dmg) and took down the butcher in 2 attempts.

I stepped out of the base in act 2, and got instagibbed by 2 lacuni hunters.
