Better late than never. They could have tanked it. Progress and baby steps with this group all things considered I'll take it.

lame, given the chance of tying their own basketball team with a FG from the tulsa 9 yard line, houston chose to kneel the ball and end the game.

Troy imploded. Gave it away in the 4th. Does that classify as NC State shit.

I can't think of what else they could have done wrong in the 4th Qtr; Muffed point, pick 6, horrible play calling and dropped passes. LSU escaped a nasty loss.

Spurrier had that shit coming to him today. Now he knows how it feels to have the tables turned on him and have somebody run the score up. He's done it for years. Karma.

^^^ spotted? you mean the INTs that were caused by pressure on the QB and deflected passes? or the desperation trick play on the kick caused by the defense?

but lets play along and say they were "spotted" 21, they still beat one of the best defenses in the country by 29

South Carolina only has one of the best defenses in the country because they play in a league with 9 1/2 bad offenses

^^^ you are right, all that top notch talent that floods the NFL each year is held back by the shitty offensive coaching in the SEC. Saban, Meyer, Richt, Miles etc. all suck. I bet none of them will ever win a National Championship.

so with Russell in his first start they would have scored 30+? and who knocked him out??

dude, you're just stretching now - we're talking about this year, not the last 10 years. this has nothing to do with shitty coaches...it has everything to do with shitty offensive players in the vast majority of the conference

i'm not saying that the state game would have gone any differently. but you're trying to hang your hat on a home win over the worst ACC team this year? it's just retarded to sit here and say that the SEC has good defenses when it's clearly bad offenses outside of Florida, Bama, and UGA (every other week)

well, one, I didnt bring up the State game... but you were the one that claimed that State would have rolled up points if Wilson had been healthy. If you can watch SEC and not see the great play on defense then you are just blind... or you just look at the scoreboard and dont actually watch the games.

It's pretty safe to say, that while the SEC is still good, the Big XII is the best conference this year... I don't think you can really argue otherwise.

The elite teams in the SEC are Florida and Alabama (and MAYBE Georgia). The Big XII has four that I'd put on that level personally...

*** Who is going to have the lowest ranked conference champ? ACC, Pac-10 or Big East? It's a battle royale...

Gotta figure Oregon State will lose, making USC the PAC 10 conference champs and a top 5 team... ACC and Big East schools approve of the BCS system this year, haha.

This year should dash fan's playoff hopes, there's ~30 million reasons a playoff system will be shot down.

"1. That the SEC was vastly overrated this year. It's funny to think that just a few months ago, people were asking me whether the SEC would ever relinquish its spot as the nation's preeminent conference. If you've been reading me for any period of time, you know I preach that conference strength is cyclical and that every league has its ups and downs from year to year. The SEC has two fantastic teams this year in Alabama and Florida. But remember when there were five SEC teams in the Top 10? Umm ... not anymore.

First Auburn and Tennessee fell to pieces. Now we're seeing with each passing week that Georgia and LSU aren't what we thought they'd be. For all the Dawgs' talent, their injuries (and perhaps their damaged psyche from the Florida game) have caught up to them. For the second straight week, Georgia struggled to beat an inferior foe on the road, this time 17-13 at Auburn. Then there was LSU, falling behind 31-3 on its home field to ... Troy. Most telling of all: South Carolina, blown off the field at Florida, may still wind up in a New Year's bowl -- by default."

"5. NC State isn't done yet. The Pack proved they're still capable of winning football games and haven't given up, and could play a big role in how the race turns out. NC State still has UNC and Miami on its schedule, and is still playing for bowl eligibility. With everyone healthy, including quarterback Russell Wilson, it's a different team."

Shea McKeen is out for the season. It sucks but it's only a couple of games more and it's not a position where depth is too serious of an issue.
