It's just no joking matter.

Although I do remember the one game I was at during the 06-07 season when there were these two girls sitting a few rows down from us screaming "GIVE THE PUCK TO TANABE" the whole game. That might be fun to experience again.

I'd piss my pants if Gaborik ever came here. He's been my favorite player since 2003. The last thing we need though is guys who get chronically injured. As much as I love him, I pity the team that signs him to a big multi year contract.

Just one of the nights where we just couldn't score. Backstrom is one helluva goalie though, so I guess that was to be expected. I like where the team is headed though and though we lost, I think this is a game we can continue to build on.

That end to end rush to complete the hat trick by Staal was a flashback to 05-06; that's the kind of thing that I've been missing from his game the last couple years. Great effort.

I'm going into tomorrow night with the expectation that we're going to lose, but man would it be awesome if we could find a way to pull one out against the Bruins. Hopefully the RBC Center will be rocking.

And on another note, day 1 is in the books from the World Juniors.

Zach Boychuk put in a goal and 2 assists for Canada in their 8-1 win over the Czechs, and Drayson Bowman scored twice for the Americans to beat Germany 8-2. Michal Jordan was a -1 with 1 shot on goal for the Czechs in the blowout loss.

I love seeing this team play, but I find it hard to get excited about a postseason run.

Sure, I think we squeak into the playoffs - but we also don't have the chemistry to compete with the top teams. We end up playing Boston or NYR in the first round and say byebye to Maurice.

We need a 2nd half surge like last year -but need to sustain it....

look at Edmonton the year we won the cup, they were an 8 seed. Yeah, the first time that ever happened, I think, but still.
