Kansas tied UNC for 2nd in all time wins today (behind Kentucky). A win tomorrow will officially pass UNC.


Kansas may be able to catch Kentucky in a couple more years, or sooner if the NCAA vacates this season's wins for Calimari.

So, uh, yeah... the Big East tourney quarterfinals was probably the best day of basketball from one conference I've seen in a long time. All four games were close and two of the four were played at an extremely high level (you can always count on a Pitt street fight to be ugly).

^ No doubt. The Big East teams (at least the good ones) just look like they are on another level even compared to the ACC teams or Big 12 (save Kansas and maybe KSU). The players are stonger, the play is crisper, everything about these Big East games are more entertaining.

I honestly think some of it can be blamed on the abortion-like ACC officiating which ruins much of the ACC action, but overall I expect the Big East to do very well in the tourney. I know I'll be writing a couple of Big East teams into my Final Four bracket.

^That might be going a bit far. I like the Big East as the best conference this year for sure and their tournament games have been entertaining, but they definitely aren't head and shoulders above any other conference.

Remember, it wasn't long ago that lowly old NCState beat Marquette at home. Not that any one game is indicative of conference performance, but the Big east cock sucking is getting a little out of hand.
