dgspencer and I just agreed to a home and home starting at State, since we have no neutral site games. We are going into the 2010 season though right?

Ummmm, so next time, can we wait for people to cut players? ALL of the offensive linemen I recruited are gone (including the #1 OT) and my youngest offensive lineman is a junior. Also, all of my athletes were put at the same position, which leads me to 6 true freshmen wide receivers...

And upon further review, a ton of my other recruits were cut. So, let's move that #1 class to about #60, haha.

Go back and read your post about the game. You noted that you'd do it IF it fit your schedule and well, it does.

ah hell, advancing. Depth chart can be adjusted in season and it's not really like redshirts matter.

and wtf, it changed my syracuse game to a home game. wanted to play in the dome.

Final:
Syracuse 27
#10 Alabama 38

Not exactly what fans of the crimson tide expected, but Bama narrowly escapes an opening weekend loss against Syracuse. The Tide had a case of the butter fingers as receivers dropped plenty of passes with no one around them. With all the drops, RS Sophomore QB Star Jackson finished a miserable 9/22 but had 277yds and 3 TDs through the air. The Orange clawed back and was only down 3 with 2:30 left when a failed blitz attempt resulted in a 77yd bomb to Julio Jones for a TD. Fans thought it was over then and began trickling out of the stadium but blown coverage allowed Syracuse to get within 4 but missed the PAT. A few potential costly penalties put the Tide in a 3rd and 30 situation but Jackson and Jones connected once again for a 69yd TD pass. Saban couldn't be reached for comment after the game.

Bama:
Jackson-9/22 for 277yds, 3 TDs and 1 int
Ingram- 28 carries for 106yds and 2 TDs
Jones- 4 catches for 204yds and 3 TDs

Syracuse:
Nassib- 15/37 for 264yds, 2 TDs and 1 int
Chew- 5 catches for 162yds and 1 TD

A LOOK AHEAD: The Tide doesn't have much time to regroup as a top 10 Nittany Lions team make a trip to Tuscaloosa for a Capital One Bowl rematch where Bama came up short in a 32-25 heart breaker. Star Receiver Julio Jones assured the local media that this game would force Joe Pa into retirement but that may be a little premature.

NC State- 38
Cincinnati- 31

NC State hangs on in a game marked by an inability to stop Cincy's speedy receivers, particularly inthe first half shootout, and almost blown by Wilson losing 38 yards on first and goal while holding a play fake for 10 seconds while backpeddling. NC State proceeded to miss a field goal and allow Cincinnati to drive for their own game tying field goal to make the game 31-31. Wilson leads the team on a game winning drive including a bomb to TJ Graham and a rushing TD to take the lead by Curtis Underwood.

Passing
NCSU
Russell Wilson 17/30 313 yds, 1 TD

CINCY
C. Anderson 17/25 244 yds, 2 TD
Z. Collaros 6/10 116 yds

Rushing
NC STATE
C. Underwood Jr. 17 carries, 137 yds, 3 TDs, 1 fumble
Russell Wilson, negative yards but 1 rushing TD
Brandon Barnes, 2 carries for 22 yards before leaving the game with an injury

CINCY
I. Pead 20 carries, 108 yds, 2 TD

Receiving
NCSU
TJ Graham 3 catches, 102 yds, 1 TD
J. Smith 5 catches, 74 yds
C. Underwood 3 catches, 57 yds
O. Spencer 2, 29 yds
B. Barnes 2, 16 yds
J. Williams 1, 29 yds

CINCY
V. Hazelton (this guy is a handful if anyone plays Cincinnati) 6 catches, 135 yds
J. Howard 4 catches, 77 yds, TD
A. Robinson 4 catches 45 yds
M. Barnett 4 catches 48 yds, TD

Not a lot to inspire confidence, particularly on the defensive side of the ball as NC State prepares for a showdown against the Tennessee Vols. A top 10 ranking and a handful of recruiting battles could be on the line.

Man, it's been a brutal few weeks me. I lose all of my offensive and defensive line recruits in a huge scandal. And then my athletic director puts together the worst schedule of all time.

FSU has FOUR home games all season and an out of conference schedule that consists of:

@ #1 Oklahoma
@ Fresno State
@ Indiana
@ #10 Alabama

Anyway, FSU has recruited and is ready to advance.

USC scores 21 unanswered points to beat the Memphis Tigers 31-10. Junior Stephen Garcia had an excellent first game throwing for 275 yards with 3 touchdowns and only 1 pick. The Tigers kept the game close until late in the third when USC's powerful offense just took over.

Junior All American for the Gamecocks Eric Baker had 25 carries for 142 yards as South Carolina established an excellent rushing and passing offense. On defense senior LE Clifton Geathers had a career day with 11 tackles, 6 of them for losses, 4 sacks and he forced one interception late in the game. After the game Geathers said, "this is the type of game I came back for my senior year for. I'm looking forward to a great year and whooping the Tiger's ass this year."

Obviously Geathers is excited about the season, as are the USC fans as many could be seen after the game at Columbia area Wal-Marts and K-Marts picking up their crimson gear.

Next up for the Gamecocks is an unranked Georgia team at home in a rivalry game.

Hey, jfowl (who is that on here)... I should be around all day. I work from home, it's raining and my game tonight should be canceled. Might go downtown tonight, so the earlier the better (during the day is best)...

Also, I've never tested against someone online with my new setup so we might have to try a few times (don't know if I need to go directly in to the cable modem and not through the router with this setup).

Georgia secures a commitment from the #5 overall G, **** Kyle Lee out of Columbus, GA
