I would assume rally would be too busy talking about kobe's 25% shooting, 24 shots and two assists

I dont agree with Rally on everything, and I hate the Lakers and Kobe, but it was obvious that Kobe wanted to be the hero in this game and was more concerned about that then anything else until the very end.

It's also funny how he tries to do everything exactly like MJ does...I mean, every fucking thing.

The whole jump on the press row, extend the arms and start dancing while holding up the 5 fingers....

I know that sounds vague, but it was IDENTICAL.

I don't think the Kobe jock riders will excuse him for his play. His shooting was atrocious.

That said, he wouldn't have single handedly blew the championship if the Lakers had lost. It would have been a collective team effort. The Lakers' shooting % as a team is a testament to that.

I'd trust him to make free throws at the end of the game before I would defer to LeBron to do the same thing.

well my last post of the nba season:

1. ray allen didn't step up, that was disapointing, a hall of famer should have found a way to get his shot working better in the finals

2. rondo still needs to work on his jump shot a little more, there were a lot of bad possessions because people were playing way off him and he should have just drilled a shot but he's one of my favorite players in the league

3. you can't ask more than that as a fan, both teams gave everything they had, the lakers just graded out a little better

4. I'm really not that bothered by this because of that kobe performance is going to make the jordan stuff a lot more questionable

5. lebron better sign with a team with another superstar now, the supporting cast on the cavs isn't going to cut it, there needs to be a younger talented team to take it to the lakers next yr, not an aging one with questionable offense

I've never really liked Kobe, but I don't see how anyone would ever like being his team mate. The guy couldn't hit hardly anything and still put up shot after shot. I think if the Celtics had had just a little bit more down the stretch then Kobe trying to shoulder the entire load would've been the bigger story.

I haven't watched much NBA ever, and don't really know how long Pierce has been in the league, but the rest of the Celtics looked old. Unless Rondo got in transition their offense was terrible. Also how can you say Jackson isn't truly an 11 time champion? I know he's had stacked teams, but 11 times is absolutely absurd.

Pretty crazy to think the Celtics started 5 hall of famers tonight

The lakers stayed in the game despite kobe but kobe came through with rebounds defense and offense at teh end.

pfffft, you can spare me the patronizing words of wisdom. phil jackson will go into the hall of fame, and he'll be considered the greatest coach of all time by those who consider nba championships to be the end-all-be-all of discussion. but that's a very sad, short-sighted, and frankly lazy analysis of his coaching career.

for 9 of his nba championships, he's had the two best players in the world on his team. you can't overlook that. i'll give him credit and say that these last two championships are easily his most impressive, followed by those early jordan rings. rarely have i watched a phil jackson led team in an nba playoff series and thought to myself, "coaching was the difference." even today, if i were to start up a team, i would take gregg poppavich over jackson in a heartbeat. and you could even argue that sloan was a better tactical coach than jackson during those bulls-jazz series.

phil jackson's legacy will be in getting big ego's to work together, which is no easy task, but that doesn't necessarily make him the greatest coach of all time. i honestly think that if you give coaches like pop, sloan, pat riley, even chuck daly those same rosters, you would see similar results. i think the most damming evidence against jackson is how his teams performed when they lost a major contributor. great coaches get players to perform above their potential, in my opinion, and jackson get's players to play to their fullest potential (which isn't bad, i just think his legacy will be inflated). besides, i can't stand seeing him sitting down on the sidelines at the end of games, looking like he's half asleep, only to wake up, put two fingers in his mouth, whistle, and yell,

"kobe....michael...triangle......michael........kobe..........horace"

why dont you talk shit about popovich since he had robinson, duncan, ginobli, parker...and then shit on riley since he had magic, kareem, worthy, etc...then shit on sloan for having malone and stockton for 50 years and not winning anything...then shit on chuck daly since his two titles were with isaiah, dumars, rodman, salley, etc

your argument is retarded, neither michael or kobe won anything without phil...and the only thing Shaq won without him he won with Wade and Riley

^^Problem is, you didn't say he wasn't the best coach of all time. You said he only earned two of his championships.

which is a fucking stupid statement to make, regardless of how many paragraphs of horseshit you can conjure up

^i was being facetious with that original comment. i thought that much would have been obvious, but i guess it wasn't. whatever

^^my argument hinges on phil jackson having #1 & #2 in terms of best players in the league. not some of the best, but the best. you can disagree with that if you want, but players like parker/ginobli are not or never where the second best players in the league during their championships. and to compare stockton/parker/dumars or whoever to kobe/pippen is a bit of a stretch, in my opinion.

jesus christ, are you being intentionally dense? yes, he has 11 rings. i'm not denying that he has them. i just think he's been very fortunate in his career. he's had the type of fortune other great coaches could only dream of.

1. Allen had to guard Kobe the entire series. I'm sure he got gassed simply focusing on his D. There's a lot of players that play slack D in order to do better offensively. He's older to boot...he doesn't have the stamina that he used to have. That said, he did a good job on Kobe all series...he can certainly play D when he has to.

2. Agreed. You can't say he's better than Deron Williams or CP3 until he develops a jump shot. It's a big flaw.

3. Agreed. Ugly game. The team that wanted it more won.

4. I read a something on ESPN that in Jordan's final game, he missed 20 shots. People just don't remember that part because he hit the last one.

5. It would be a bigger testament to LeBron's talent if he can win without having an equally talented teammate. Some will argue that LeBron doesn't have an equal, but it still wouldn't impress me as much if LeBron won a championship with Wade and Joe Johnson.

Um, what?

I don't even know where to begin with this.

First of all, Sheed has never won 2 championships. Unless he won in high school or something.

Second of all, Detroit's championship was more of a team effort than any one in recent memory.

You'd be hard pressed to argue that Ben Wallace wasn't the best player on that team. Now if you wanted to argue Chauncey Billups led the team b/c he was the point guard and hit some big shots that's a legitimate stance. If you wanted to say Tayshaun Prince led the team because he absolutely demolished Kobe Bryant, that's also a legitimate stance. If you wanted to say Rip Hamilton led the team because he was their leading scorer, I'd have to disagree with you fairly vehemently but at least you'd be consistent with your scoring fellatio. If you wanted to say the Pistons won that championship because of the great bench play they got from Mehmet Okur, I'd laugh at you but it would make about as much sense as saying Sheed led them to that title.

Detroit was already a top team before they added Rasheed Wallace MIDSEASON that year. He was certainly a valuable member of the team, but what a joke to say he is a hall of famer because he was a key component of ONE (NOT TWO!) championship teams.

Jesus, by your standards we'd have to put Nazr Mohammad in the hall of fame too for leading the Spurs to one of their titles.
