App State beat Michigan once, but that doesn't make App State better than Michigan. Just better than them at that specific moment in history, in that specific situation.
*EDIT* Oh God why is this the first post on page 201.

How is anyone talking shit about another team on a NC State message board, especially after Cinci kicked your shit in? Your 3 wins are against Liberty, South Alabama, and a directional Michigan school. You should be happy the ACC doesn't kick you out and make you join C-USA.

UCF to be invited to Big East for all sports, Boise, Air Force, and Navy in football only.

Here's who they're still deciding on for those remaining two slots.
Quote : | "The Big East is still considering adding Temple, and UCF's Conference USA rivals SMU and Houston. Temple, which was kicked out of the Big East in 2005, plays football in the Mid-American Conference." |
http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/7101780/big-east-double-exit-fee-invite-four-schools-expansion
SO yeah, seriously no ECU. Assuming everyone they ask says yes. I could see Boise St., AFA, and Navy saying no. Navy to protect it's independent tradition (BCS money isn't as important there), Boise and AFA because of the travel costs involved and because Boise St. is tired of acting desperate.
UCF will probably be happy to join, but I'd stick up for the basketball program and try to sneak that into the Big East as well.
Of course, they probably wouldn't "plan to invite" if they didn't have solid evidence that these universities would agree to join.
/ I'm going to feel kinda bad for ECU if the Big East adds 6 freaking schools and they get passed over again.

ESPN just reported Big East has invited Boise, UCF, Navy & Air Force.
Interesting move by the Mt. West & C-USA. Will it keep any of these teams from leaving? We'll see...In my opinion it would be stupid of Boise to leave for teh Big East, the travel alone is a lot on the student athletes & recruiting would change IMO. Boise would also have to find another conference for all of it's other sports as Mt. West & C-USA stated that any team leaving must leave for all sports, can't leave football & remain the rest of the way in the league.
Mark May & Lou Holtz just talked about it on College Football Live...ripped the Big East for not taking ECU & Memphis.
I'm hoping that Boise dosen't take the invite & stays in the Mt. West. If they do that I doubt any other of those teams goes except maybe UCF. I'd love to see the Big East die...what a total shit conference. I'm still convinced that Louisville & WVU will be gone within a year or so to the Big 12 or SEC..leaving the Big East a real shithole of a conference. 10/14/2011 8:24:41 PM |

I don't know how Boise could logistically play in the Big East.
The Big East's basic structure is not stable for the current sports environment. Having multiple athletic programs with only football and only basketball involvement is way too unwieldy. I think they should go back to what they do best and that's basketball for the small private universities in the Northeast. 10/15/2011 6:29:24 AM |

They aren't going to just give up the NYC market completely by losing UConn and Rutgers, not to mention WVU and Louisville... which would happen should they just to be just a basketball conference.10/15/2011 8:08:49 AM |

^^ it'll probably be pretty rarefied they actually play each other. In a conference that large they probably won't play more than one out of division team (if any at all) 10/15/2011 10:07:38 AM |

That is such an ugly conference merger (CUSA & MW). They probably will get an AQ status though if Boise stays.

Ha!
I prefer an 8 game season. As much as I think expansion was good for the ACC, we really did have perfect season when it was just 9 teams. Especially after FSU became beatable.
OOC, 1 Div1aa school as a tune-up(Ideally AppState, Western, NCCU, or someone else relatively local like Richmond or JMU so they don't have to incur problematic travel costs), one non-BCS Div1a school, one lower-level BCS school, and one mid-to-high level BCS school.
That's a perfect season right there, imo.
