Here's the thing about that challenge though. The ref has to 100% CERTAIN that Defoe had malicious intent to go straight red in that situation. There is absolutely no way the ref could say that. You couldn't even tell in the replay. It was a reckless challenge and he deserved to be booked without a doubt but gtfoh with that straight red bullshit.

I heard the announcer say after that incident that this ref has given the most red cards and the most penalties in the EPL this season. I'm not surprised.

Despite the bullshit, a clean sheet still wins it.
