Do all Brasil's players have bad teeth, or just the good ones?

I'll watch it on the ESPN Classic replay at 5. I only saw a replay on a 6-inch x 6-inch in the lower lefthand corner of my computer screen at work, so I need more resolution. It looked to me like the Ghanaian headed the ball and Onyewu was late going up for the ball. So the Ghanaian was coming down and Onyewu was kinda going up, and Onyewu's a big guy.

I think it's just a judgment call on the ref's part. In my eyes that's just a part of the game, like Lebron or Wade getting massive foul calls on players defending them as "respect" in basketball. If you're in the box, that chance is there cause you know there are always going to be fouls that are borderline. The chances of that are maybe 5% at best, but if you're in the box 10 times during a game, 5% would equates to 1 penalty every other game. If you're a defender, if you don't want to give up a penalty, you can't give the ref the chance to call one.

Part of the USA's problem this World Cup was they were never in the box to benefit from a defender making a bonehead play, and as I look back on qualifying, although they won most of their games, that was pretty much how we played then too.

Okay I understand all your reasoning, just take a look at the replay and then we'll talk about it.

I would die laughing if Milan and Juventus get relegated. Couldn't have happened to nicer people.

anybody think Dempsey caught the attention of any European clubs in the World Cup? I could see him playing League Championship in England or something comparable... anything to get him out of MLS

"After Dempsey's contract runs out, it is possible he will move to a European league. He has trained with Dutch team Feyenoord Rotterdam and English team Everton F.C. in the past two years."

Feyenoord would be better. He'd just sit on the bench at Everton.

If you're a soccer fan and want to hear a cold-blooded analysis of U.S. play (rather than people at ESPN that came out criticizing 2 hours after they were praising) that talks about the game and U.S. soccer's viewpoint on the game and how it contributed to the result, here's a good show (warning: highly opinionated).

I can't believe I picked Cech instead of Buffon.

At least I saved myself by making Robinho captain.

The Italian player that elbowed Brian McBride in the USA-Italy game has been banned from the rest of the World Cup.

I've been having to work, and haven't been able to see any of the games...so can someone tell me how shitty the US played? Was it not that shitty, or just really really shitty?

The US team is horrible, men's soccer in America is shit compared to the rest of the world...take any club team from anywhere else and put them against the US team, and maybe that will be a fair match

I have a question about something that happened yesterday. I know that if you get 2 yellow cards in the group play, you're suspended the next game. Emerton for Australia, for example, got his 2nd yellow of the group play, so he will be out for the next game. Later in the game, he got his 2nd yellow of the day, which of course leads to a red card. My question is, does he still only have a 1 game suspension, or does he miss the game after as well?

Should be two fairly intriguing games tomorrow, looking forward to some real good matches at least now that the US is gone. Two latin america teams and two european teams going at it. good shit.

Seriously, all the old timers should just get out.

McBride, Pope, Reyna. They are remnants of the bad old days, yet they're still good enough to start? Just goes to show American talent development over the last eight plus years.

Anybody hear the clip of Wynalda on Mike and Mike where he ripped Arena? It was pretty brutal, but all true

didn't know Arena was a lacrosse player who just decided to play soccer

Uh, any team that can score 3 goals in 7 minutes is good.

They're scrappy, and they had a legit shot against Brazil (who admittedly wasn't trying)
