you are a fatty by nature. Stop fighting it. Once you start living with your "comfortable" weight, you'll be all the more happy.

Dont kill yourself. Eat healthy and excercise.... while having fun.

I gain weight every winter, last winter I hit ONE HUNDRED NINETY FUCKIN NINE POUNDS

Not close but I refuse! Pissed I'm gaining! I haven't been eating right, it's like a tick in my head that makes shitty decisions once the holidays come around. Is it stress? I don't fucking know, it sucks and I want it to end.

I'dfucking love to be able to afford a personal trainer right now, WOULD LOVE IT.

Whoa... sorry. I wasn't trying to come off as an ass. I just meant that setting my goal that high isn't feasible. Just getting in the habit of exercising more & eating better is my main goal. Unforutunately, I've never been the person to go out by myself and exercise persay. I'm thinking about getting back into swimming, maybe join the club team-- that way there's a commitment associated. Swimming competitively in HS really whipped me into shape AND I was waking up at 5AM... haha, if only I could still survive on 2-4 hours of sleep/day.

Tired of hearing that shit on here sorry.

It's not my weight I'm so concerned about per se it's that I'm eating bad shit uncontrollably and then wonder why I feel awful. Every winter I fall into this and I don't know how to beat it. Thing is I don't reach this level of disgust until mid January so maybe this is a start.

I wish I was deathly allergic to everything bad for you foodwise, gah damn.

its human nature to be attracted to good food. It's really hard to give up junk food/fast food, and to eat healthy (less good tasting) food in order to lose weight. The main thing you need is motivation to eat healthy and lose weight, because without it, its pointless to even try.

Yeah and it seems I lose tat motivation in the fall very easily and I don't know why. I hate it though, I miss how great I felt after working out and eating better.

^ From someone used to fighting allergies, I assure - you'll just find other things. Been there, done that.

On a side note, weight loss & diet tracker wise, I'm still on 'target' and maintaining well (below what I realistically expected).... after not eating that mess for a while, it isn't even good when you 'splurge'

The easier way is for me to just look at a family photo and understand my genes, and what has to be done for me not to weigh what they do.

Yeah seeing my family helps too and their medical issues. I feel like crap right now from the week of bad shit I've been eating. I need someone to help me out though, keep me going when I don't want to. A personal trainer was excellent for that, my cheerleader when I needed one, an appointment I couldn't miss cause it was damn expensive, a reason to get excited about my weight loss(the awesome results).

It's hard fighting the battle alone but no one here wants to help or can understand what I mean.

I mean in Knoxville. There's only so much the internet can do and if I'm sitting on here for all that support my butt will only get wider haha.

There is a reason I bump this thread though, making my failure public so something begins to change AGAIN.

Be my support bra k?

The best motivation you'll EVER have to continue is for that 'visit' back home where you shock and or awe everyone - and the first thing they say seeing you is 'you look great' or 'wow, you lost a lot of weight!'

It's worth it's weight in platinum

Yeah I love that feeling. I've even motivated my mother to get active and now I'm becoming a slug. The confidence I felt, how sexy I looked, how good I felt inside it's all awesome.

Shit I feel the motivation coming back I'm just so afraid of losing it that I lose it. Oh and I'm embarrassed to lift weights on my own in the gym where my old PT works....cause I know I'm doing it wrong. ugh

Just go get what u want, mmmmkay?

The sport I like is sweating my ass off at the gym, or volleyball but I wouldn't even know where to begin to find a uh recreational adult team somewherE?

Thing is I love chocolate, so like fudgcicles, that'd be cool and would keep me on track. I suck at cooking and don't have the patience to learn, guess I should........

there are fat free pops that arent bad (and sugar free, and a million other 'frees') - or make your own so you know what is in them. You only get one every 3 days, and ONLY if you followed your rules on diet. If you got lazy, you don't get your treat. Rewards at their greatest!!!

How's that sound?

hey, if it helps any. I believe in you. Just make it happen. Im tired of hearing you talk about losing weight, cry about not being able to lose weight. You dont need support. you're not doing this for anyone else, you're doing this for yourself.

Get off your ass and do it. Change the little things. park far from the store, surround yourself with good food. stop chocolate, stop fast food, stop sodas. Just fucking do it and stop filling this thread with your hopeless cries for help. You're doing this for you, not us. So stop posting in this pathetic thread and get to it.

Want volleyball?
http://www.carolinaregionvb.org/
They have a big directory of teams, split into adult and kids.
Also, check the Raleigh Parks and Rec department web site. You can usually find some weird programs if you look in the community center stuff, instead of the strictly athletic center programs, and community center fees are usually cheap as hell.

hey Kiwi, would you consider switching to a vegan diet? I did it recently and I am eating much healthier and have lost a little weight.

I thought it would be terrible and depriving, but I have found that I'm now actually eating a wider variety of foods than before. When I really need something sweet I eat those dark chocolate bars that are like $3. They are really good, but the expense keeps me from eating them too often.

now that I can't just stop at Talley and have ice cream every day, my eating habits have improved tremendously!!! I enjoy the food I eat now just as much as when I was a meatatarian, only now I am eating TONS of fruit and vegetables!

Well I def want to cut a lot of meat out of my diet, but I think white meat is good, and I love the occasional piece of steak but if you have any recipes I'd be glad to try them!

What kind of fruits are you eating in the fall/winter??

clementines are in season now ... the most delicious fruit there ever was! winter vegetables are good too, like the many varieties of squash. I made a butternut squash and apple bake a while back that was delicious!! even if you continue to eat meat you can include veg meals. for snacking, you can get apples and bananas year round.

for me the best health benefit of veganism came from eliminating cheese & ice cream and increasing produce and beans. the next time you want a steak I recommend grilling a portobello mushroom instead, and eat it on a bun with some guacamole. Yummy! and very meaty tasting.

kiwi, you say you "eat right." what exactly does a typical day look like for you? Do you know how many calories you should be taking to maintain current weight? for weightloss? What are you currently taking in?

Excludeing meat is DUMB

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH LEAN MEAT (INCLUDING LEAN CUTS OF BEEF)

How much protein do you take in?

Yeah even with eating meat it can't be the centerpiece, it's only supposed to be about 25% of your plate anyway. If I knew how to prepare this stuff I'd love to taste new things I just have no idea what I'm doing in the kitchen!

Right now it's awful, I eat out way too much and usually have a bowl of ice cream for dessert. Very little veggie intake and hardly any fruit! When I was losing weight I was at about 1230 a day but I didn't keep track I just mostly made sure everything going in was healthy.

"healthy" doesn't mean shit.

Potatos and grains are healthy.....given that you are consuming them when your body needs them--around workouts.

Please don't quote the food pyramid. It has always been and now (even with changes) fubared.

Beans & Rice - this dish was a staple at my house growing up! it is a traditional Cuban meal that is nutritious and filling. easy to make and clean up because it only uses 2 pots - one for rice and one for everything else. makes a huge amount of food that is equally good as leftovers, and is very cheap! these are some of the cheapest items in the grocery store

Ingredients
1 onion
1 zucchini or other squash
1 green pepper
few cloves garlic
salt & pepper & seasonings of choice
2 cans beans (can be any variety, I prefer Goya brand "pink beans")
8oz can tomato paste
2 cups rice (use brown rice for best nutrition)
olive oil

Directions
1. cook the rice
2. In a large pot, sautee the onion in some olive oil, add salt & pepper to taste
3. while the onion is cooking, chop the pepper & zucchini
4. add pepper, garlic, & zucchini, let cook until tender but not mushy
5. add both cans of beans, plus 1 can of water
6. add the entire can of tomato paste
7. stir and heat through, season to taste

To eat, get some beans & rice in whatever proportion you like. Before eating, top with a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar - this step is crucial!!!

the best part is, I hardly ever encounter a meal that is just as good reheated as hot off the stove, but this is one! Never have trouble finishing the leftovers.

the only thing I see wrong is the rice being empty calories. But you can use a smaller amount of rice on your plate to fix that. and make sure not to cook the vegetables into mush. I like a little crunch and it helps retain the nutrients

Here's something even better

Grill/bake/roast a peice of chicken/steak
Grill/roast sqash, zucchini, mushrooms, peppers, onions w/ oregano, olive oil, cracked pepper, salt

Grill/bake/roast chicken/steak
Steamed veggies

two easy meals that NO one can fuck up.

Rice does have it's place, assuming you would be consuming this meal before or after a workout. This being said, it needs a major source of protein--MEAT.

You should be consuming a complete protein with every meal.

If you want to be serious about keeping up with your weight loss, you need to go grocery shopping and plan your meals. Don't keep saying you don't know how to cook, and don't use that as an excuse anymore. And don't say that you don't have time. Take half a day and go shopping for the food and then prep it so it's on hand. Are you at work right now, or at home messing around on the internet? You could be using this time to plan your life.

I try to eat out only a couple of times a week. I always bring my lunch to work. And I've been going straight to the gym after work too.

Beans are low in the amino acid methionine and therefore aren't considered a complete protein. And I doubt you are eating enough for an adequate amount of protein.
