I wouldn't say zero chance. Schools are usually pretty lax after a coaching change. Unconditional releases are pretty common.

i'll be surprised if they put any restrictions on their recruits. considering all of the bad press that coaches/schools have gotten lately for transfer restrictions combined w/ the fact that VT basketball has zero chance to be relevant next year, i think they just tell him he can do whatever he wants.

yeah but that's a transfer. for just a commit when the school fired the coach... especially for a kid from NC, where there's nothing but ACC schools nearby.

at a risk of starting a flame war, he averaged 9.3 points and 3.3 assists (1.8 TOs) in 23 mins. and yes, i know he shot pretty poorly. but i'll be happy if lewis puts up those kinds of averages his freshman season (or even less points/shots).

and i'm not necessarily "pulling for him at kentucky", as much as i'm not "pulling for him to fail", as some seem to be.

Howlands job was on the line after the shit show that went on this year with all the media attention drawn to how out of control the program is. And he decided to pay to stay in business. Spend money to make money.
