Just get yourself some nice closed toe shoes and a trendy ID card holder.
I'm pretty sure my eccos were made to be "doctor shoes" because they have a no-slip sole (not all of them do).

It's ok. Some crocs aren't heinous. They just look like work shoes. I have a pair in case I can't find my black nike's.

Why would you need to wear scrubs? I think that's what I don't get. Or is it more of a "the rest of the office has to do it, so you do too?" 6/15/2012 6:54:26 PM |

Sam, that dress is adorable and I can't wait to wear scrubs every day to work. The only color I don't want to wear is black because it would show all the dog and cat fur. You basically get to wear pajamas to work, stop complaining. 6/15/2012 8:02:59 PM |

I'm really suspicious of not wearing real pants on a regular basis
Wearing pants frequently is how I know if I am getting fat. I think if I wore scrubs everyday I'd gain 20lbs in the first 6 weeks.
Am I being paranoid or is this a real concern? 6/15/2012 10:58:16 PM |

I wish I could wear scrubs to work. I still have a few pair of scrub pants from my EMS days but they are getting ragged. I could use a few new ones. 6/16/2012 8:35:20 AM |

Exactly/bingo. i think if there were quite a few more GCs there it would be different but I'm the only one. I guess I just feel weird wearing them and I'm kinda pissed because I spent a good chunk of change on clothes for clinic when I was in school. Now where am I going to wear all my professional clothes?! I'll be looking fly at the conference in October, I guess.
And for real, I LOVE color. I am very sad over the pewter 6/16/2012 1:55:22 PM |

Predicament - I'm getting a Brazilian wax tomorrow before I leave for Cali for a week (wherein I will be seeing my lover). Unfortunately, I started my period on Saturday. Normally I would just reschedule but this is a must-wax situation. Do I:
A) wear a tammy and apologize, but assume she's seen it all before? B) take the tammy out right beforehand and hope for the best? (I will be on a pretty light flow tomorrow) C) wear a tammy but tuck the string in so she's none the wiser, and hope to remember before TSS sets in D) cancel the wax and go amazon 6/19/2012 12:24:43 AM |
thegoodoctor All American 1670 Posts user info edit post |
I would probably cancel the appointment and just deal with it in other ways.
Plus if the person you're seeing isn't squeamish about your period, wouldn't it be safe to assume they wouldn't be squeamish about this? 6/19/2012 1:23:28 AM |
slappy1 All American 2303 Posts user info edit post |
Well I will be off my period by then (he's coming down on Saturday) and its definitely not about him being squeamish, just me wanting to do something special/nice for him since we only get to see each other every couple months 6/19/2012 2:20:55 AM |

i'm sure she's seen it all before so you could just go for it
where are you going in california? you could get waxed when you get there (i could recommend a great place in san diego, and a few places in/around LA) 6/19/2012 7:25:06 AM |

Don't wait to Cali because sometimes soreness from waxing would ruin sexy time. Plus, it's good to let the redness, etc cease.
Waxers have seen it all; I'd just tuck the string so it doesn't get caught up during waxing. 6/19/2012 9:50:07 AM |

please cancel your appointment. your waxer already has to look at your vagina and asshole, she doesn't need to touch your period blood.
come on now
also if this is your first time waxing your skin is going to be PISSED OFF for like a week. i'm talking red and angry. it's not sexy or cute. so if you reschedule for after your time of the month has passed, just keep that in mind. ] 6/19/2012 9:57:55 AM |

I've also heard waxing hurts like hell when you're on your period.
You can always call the shop and see if that have protocol for that kind of stuff. But, I'm leaning towards agreeing with ddk. 6/19/2012 10:01:17 AM |
roberta All American 1769 Posts user info edit post |
i guess i should clarify that i would just cancel -- but my regular waxer in san diego once mentioned to me that she waxed someone on the rag (same deal, was going on vacation or something) and she told her it was fine just wear a tampon and let her know about potentially increased sensitivity/pain (though she relayed the story to me as a this chick was crazy kind of thing so i don't see myself doing it)
i personally am not sore after waxing and the redness is gone in an hour at most but i realize this is different for everyone 6/19/2012 10:11:43 AM |

well, as luck would have it, I woke up this morning with little to no signs of remaining period, but I put a tammy in just in case. had it in all morning and took it out after my hair appt and before my beaver wax, and it was dry as a bone (WORST. FEELING. EVER.). so I felt pretty confident about going into my appointment. this was at a new place with a girl I had never been to and I couldn't be happier. she was the most thorough, knowledgeable, professional, nice aesthetician I've ever encountered, and based on our conversation I doubt she would have minded a little cotton string hanging from my beav.
and yes, I've had it waxed before. I think it depends on the person/methods for my reactions. I've had bleeding/blood bruises, soreness, etc. But I feel pretty fucking good right now and it looks beautiful. but that could have something to do with the two skinny girl margs I was served at my hair appt 6/19/2012 3:21:10 PM |

really? I'm sure these types have dealt with rotting, disease infested, smelly asses and hoohas quite a bit. just having your period would be nothing to them.6/19/2012 4:07:02 PM |

I'm happy for her that she didn't have to cancel her appointment but these people aren't doctors. If your situation is gross they can tell you to fuck right off. I would not touch period blood BC hello blood born diseases and the like. I'm just saying treat your waxer the way you'd want to be treated aka don't be gross. 6/19/2012 4:10:27 PM |

I'm not a fan of this dress. Personally I don't think it would look good on you. I think something with thinner shoulder straps would look or a dress with 3/4 sleeves, but the skirt a little shorter.
