I'd rock those hard! (where did you find them? I don't see them on the site!)

If these weren't sold out, they'd be great for NCSU

well when you're 40 and and have the lines of a 60 year old on your face you might wish you'd spent a little more time looking "stupid" and not fucking old and diseased

I'd rather look shitty at 40 than dumb at 20

of course I dont have to worry about it because I look fine in shades. And I never think of shades as skin protection, just eyes, do they really help that much with your skin?

right back over here with the other people who know they would be idiots to neglect sun protection and wouldn't take it personally if it was pointed out to them.

haha not really. if you want to protect your skin from being all gross and fucking diseased you wear sun screen and stay out of the sun

which if she knew anything about me in the first place, she would know that I do. so forgive me if I'm not too worried about having to squint on my way to and from work because I can't find a pair of sunglasses that don't make me look like a douchebag

I dont know if I'd worry more about wrinkle than I would about the damage to my eyeballs

I have a hard time believing you look dumb in sunglasses, it's probably just a "in your head" kind of thing

at this latitude, the sun rays would not be damaging to your eyeballs (or so I read) so all those shade changing glasses are a scam lest you be in the tropics or AFRIIIIIIIICA.

my parents never even thought of using sunscreen on me when I was little and we went to the beach (mid 80s), no one wore it back then... so I would be out on the beach for like 10 hours with no protection on, blisters everywhere, etc. So I figure if I'm going to get something I already have that shit lingering anyways so I just slap on some SPF 30 and say fuck it

ok not ALL sunglasses look dumb but it takes ages for me to find a shape that i feel compliments my face. I had a pair that I really liked but I broke them and haven't had the heart to replace them as I know it will take 30 to 45 minutes just trying on every pair in the store.

as for your war against sun damage greenjay, maybe you should preach to someone who actually goes into the sun?

the uv index in my lab is 0.

hoping you all might be able to help. I'm looking for a place that does custom birthday cakes. All I can find are the high class shops that do high priced stuff - I just wanted something other than the traditional rectangle cake without dropping texa$. thanks

have you looked at Cinda's Creative Cakes?

i don't know how much you're looking to spend or how many people you're expecting but i feel like for the kind of stuff she can do, her stuff is pretty reasonable.

there's a place near campus called Edible Art. I'm not sure how bad pricing is I never ordered a full cake but I have taste tested their stuff and it is DELICIOUS.

They do fancy stuff but they do simpler stuff too. I'm sure if you ordered something simple the pricing shouldn't be too outrageous

clay mask maybe? I haven't done one in awhile but when my skin was being crazy oily they would help

or maybe go get a facial

i'm getting a facial on thursday. i had 3 massive pimples on my chin and now they're all drying up but this morning i felt ANOTHER 2 more bumps popping up i didn't know if there was anything i could do to try to scare them away

I had a similar problem and looked things up, but everything I saw said to not get a facial right before since you usually break out after them (since it clears out the toxins or whatever) - do you know what type of facial you're having?

the only thing I saw that was recommended always was what DDK said, a clay mask... I used one and my skin felt a lot better after. I think people just say make sure you don't try to use a bunch of crap to get rid of the pimples because you never know how you'll react to certain products, ya know?

If you've never had a facial, 5 days before your wedding is not a good time to start. After a facial I look great and refreshed following, but then actually tend to break out for a few days.

I'd keep your routine the same. Maybe even step back other than makeup removal before bed. Ice for puffiness.

And try to stop freaking out. If something doesn't get done by Saturday, no one will notice. No one.

i've had plenty of facials before. my skin normally never breaks out but it's only on my chin. part of it is stress and part of it is this stupid birth control that i've been having problems with (but am taking care of after the wedding).

all the wedding stuff is done and i dont care about anything else at this point so that's good.

[Edited on June 25, 2012 at 2:42 PM. Reason : it's a mini facial so i am not that worried.]

Toothpaste can reduce the inflammation pretty quickly by drying it out. Also, I've heard that dissolving an aspirin method is effective (never tried it) http://www.wikihow.com/Reduce-Pimple-Redness-and-Size-(Aspirin-Method)

Other than that, keep your hair out of your face, your hands off your chin, and reduce greasy foods!

^ yes i am trying. i have a habit of resting my chin on my hand which i think is definitely contributing to it.

i also read that lemon juice can help, as can cinnamon mixed in with honey left overnight on the skin.

[Edited on June 25, 2012 at 2:54 PM. Reason : lemon juice is separate.]

Neutrogena on-the-spot 2.5% benzoyl peroxide applied daily chases my breakouts away

you can also try one of those devices that you hold against your face and they heat up to kill the bacteria. i tried a friends a few times and it worked, but i don't have problems like that.

Thanks

I never had these problems either until I switched birth control. An occasional pimple here and there was fine but now I'm having some pretty crazy issues (besides these multiple monster pimples) in the last 9 months and I think it's time to find a different pill. I had talked to my doctor in march about some of the issues but we thought a lot of it was related to my soy intake and I had planned to stop with the soy. But now it's been 3 months since and things are getting worse. Back to Yasmin I go.

so i made a concoction of honey and cinnamon last night and put it on my face and then went to bed. i figured the mixture would eventually harden, yeah no. i woke up with cinnamon streaks all over my pillow and sheets and the pimples are still here

if its still bad, try setting up a derm appt the morning of or the day before. they can give you cortisol injections that will dry them up and get the redness out, though it's obviously only temporary

I don't know the technical name but at the salon I worked at in Charlotte they had this electric wand type thing that 'zapped' pimples. They touch it to your face and it kills the bacteria in the pimples -- clears your face up super quick. I'm sure some salons around here have it I just don't know what to tell you to ask for.
