In the past, Taste of Charlotte has been a waste. You overpay for tokens and then redeem them at vendors but you're not really getting a good deal anywhere.

that was pretty cool, i went to a friend's place in a 7 story building, went on the roof, had a great view of the uptown fireworks, and could even see fireworks at south park, knights castle, etc

Yeah, was able to see the fireworks all around town from our balcony. Was pretty sweet! Charlotte loves it's fireworks.

Saw lots in Ballantyne, Carowinds, Uptown, Matthews, etc.

since 7/4 is Independence Day

also Duckworth's Cheesesteakery moved a month or two ago from their spot across from Park Road Shopping Center, into the place at the corner of Montford and Park, right across Montford from Wachovia/Angry Ales...they have a bunch of beers on tap...I drank some $5 11.3 alcohol by volume IPAs...good stuff

they have one beer there thats like $350 for a bottle...i think its like a 6 liter bottle...bartender said they only keep 1 in stock

I enjoy Duckworth's and their selection, especially that they have Allagash Black on tap.

I'll let the crowd at Taco Mac die down a bit before visiting, although it is a walk-able distance from me.

any of you been to Growler's Pourhouse in Noda? a new craft beer joint, a few friends went over the weekend and said it was pretty awesome with a great selection. Gonna try and check it out this weekend.

Thought about going to Taco Mac last night but decided against it. Their reviews on Yelp are pretty bad (2.5 stars).

Anyone heard anything about Paco's Taco's? New Tex Mex place in Southpark where Maggiano's used to be. Supposed to be run by the same people behind Big Daddy's/Mama Ricotta's/Cantina.
