I still keep getting beat on the melee attacks. I mean I understand its all about who had more energy but there are times when I know i got the first shot off and we head to each other using same weapon and boom I get smacked down I'll plop down for cod4 after the new year.

You die because you are melee attacking first! Keep shooting. After you SEE your opponent initiate a melee attack, then you hit the button. He will have a little less health because you shot him a couple more times.

i just played my dads COD4 a lil bit. not online, but just the story mode. Pretty intense so far. Love the guns/graphics and it is pretty smooth. Excited to get online with it in the next couple of days

just played team hardcore for the first time tonight. i like that better than the other ranked ones, cause it really involves teamwork with the mic's since enemies are not on the radar. i think i read somewhere that this was on halo 2's playlist, but i cant remember. i really hated halo 2 a lot after i played it for a month or 2.

I got my first overkill last night and it was actually legit!! was playing team slayer on the pit. part of my team had left so it was either 4 vs 3 or 5 vs 3. anywho the other team got up by 10 points cuz they were bunching and hunting like a pack of wolves. I threw a sticky grenade from halfway way across the screen and it stuck to one of them....one shot in a million. They all turn and were running up the ramp when it went off and killed all 4 of them. I didn't know i had done it cuz I had took off running again and then all of a sudden I hear "double kill, triple kill, overkill, kill joy, killing spree"

and yes me and the two little kids playing with me prevailed in the end mainly cuz they seemed puzzled by the turret and I started mowing them down. cheeezy but it worked.

^ That's basically how I got my second overkill. Mine was on guardian. I was throwing grenades at a guy running up to the yellow lift. A grenade missed and went up the lift. I stuck him with the second one. When he got to the top and exploded it killed his whole team. I don't know why I didn't get the extermination medal (kill the entire enemy team and get at least overkill) though.

^^ I've been having trouble for about 2 weeks with matchmaking. 25% of the time I connect to a game, then get disconnected (I've got about 80 pts in experience penalties). Some days I can't connect to LIVE at all. Some days I can connect to LIVE but no online games. I called msft and they said they have a problem that effects some peoples' LIVE service but not others.

^^^ What are the requirements for perfection and can you get it in a team slayer? The description says 15 kills, no dying, and win. Best I've done was 14 kills without dying

I've done about 100 social slayer matches in the last week and have only netted 15 experience points because Xbox keeps kicking me off...

I can't make any progress, so I guess there's no point in playing until the Xbox Live network is fixed. (I called it and it says they are experiencing network problems)

i havent really had a problem with XBL recently, some games have lagged, but that is common.


perfection is 15 kills, 0 deaths...not sure if you have to win to get it. my team won, but it was CTF. finished with 19 kills, 0 deaths. i came close to whatever 25 kills, 0 deaths is in rumble pit once (invincible, i think?)...got 24 kills then died twice before gettin 25th kill...

invincible is 30 kills. play big team battle with a good warthog driver and get on the gun. i know a few people that have gotten it that way. usually i drive my brother and he gets 30-40 kills in a BTB.

I just got a rampage (20 consecutive kills), a vehicular manslaughter (10 consecutive splatters), and a killtrocity (6 kills no more than 4 seconds apart). The game is tagged "unreliable" and none of the medals show up in my chest. I think it was flagged because the scores were 25, 4, 0, 0, 0, 0.

ok so now i finally had troubles with live. me and 7 other guys tried to play a custom game and got lagged in that...

then took it over to big team battle just for the hell of it. took 15 minutes to get a game, we won 100-28, but i was gettin lag for the first couple minutes before it was fine...

peoples, stop using 56k, haha

I want to show one to my brother of me pwning in a lone wolves match where everyone was ranked higher than I was. The other 5 guys combined had less kills than I did... 2 killing sprees, 2 triple kills, 9 grenade sticks (2 of them were double kills).

The match is only a couple minutes long.

^ their effective range is almost as far as the assault rifle, they fire faster, and do more damage. lately i've been tending towards carrying 1 SMG and a battle rifle. i've gotten so good with stickies it's not worth carrying a second gun.

^^ happened to me the other day. only i shot the person roughly 5 times to the head from behind. the person turned around to return fire (in this time i shot 3 or 4 more bursts) and shot me twice with the battle rifle and I died, ending my longest spree ever, 23 kills. i was so pissed i wanted to body slam my TV.

I am sad the the Juggernaut games only go to 10 points. It's damn near impossible to get the unstoppable medal. You have to START as the juggernaut AND get 10 kills without dying. If you don't start as the juggernaut, the game will end before you get a frenzy as the juggernaut (1pt for killing the juggernaut + 9 kills as the juggernaut).

i would say cod4 can be quite random, but its not that bs where nine headshots pretty much point blank range doesn't kill. i heard someone say once that 'you have to shot them 4 times in the head with the br' but if what he meant was to shoot four 3-round burst that would be just ridiculous.

^um... it takes 3 bursts of 3 rounds to kill if all the bullets hit the head. usually one or 2 misses, so typically it takes 4 bursts (12 shots). it takes about 15 bursts to kill shooting in the body though.

^Starting with a battle rifle puts more emphasis on the ability to aim at range, as opposed to starting with the AR (who was that retarded to put that on live? Fights from anything beyond close-range amount to little more than luck with the spread on that weapon). I have a hard time seeing how being more skilled than another person comes into play at all with the assault rifle, unless one of the people fighting is just an idiot.

(Disclaimer: For whatever reason, MLG players think that "skill"="aim"... personally I think that there are some more unquantifiable things that also come into play than what is considered to be "skill" by their definition... but either way, starting the game with an inaccurate weapon is just dumb.)

Don't get so worked up over this... if you were on Live it was probably due to lag of some sort... the reason he just stood there was probably due to the fact that he wasn't actually standing there at all, he just appeared that way to you because of some connection problem (possibly on his end). Post the video so we can see just what happened.
