First of all I wasn't claiming I was the only one to think up the theory, simply that since I was the one defending the theory of course I was interpreting the episode to fit the theory. I hadn't heard it yet, but I'm not seeking out theories.

Yes I am aware about the cast drama in season 2. Whether this was intended to be the original explanation of her back story is a moot point. They didn't originally intend Ben to be the leader of the Others, but his guest appearance was so good they altered the story slightly so he was the leader. My point is that a lot of the "answers" we get won't be cut in stone, only one way to read them answers, some will be open to interpretation. I guarantee we won't get the Libby backstory in the island world, so that being the case, if it turns out the two worlds always existed, you could see how you could see the reason for her "insanity" being the same in both worlds.

Even if the reality split off, the bomb went off in 1977, before Libby went into the mental institution, so she could still be aware of this other reality.

As far as i'm concerned, frank is there because smoke monster convinced locke to kill himself, grab the other people who left and bring them back. The fact that they're candidates isn't exclusive of what i'm saying. MAYBE just fucking MAYBE since jacob is dead, locke can only leave if he has all of the candidates with him leaving in the way that they got there.
