2000 calories a day put me at a 2 pound / week weight loss range without doing any exercise. I'm thinking a lot of people in here severely underestimate their calorie intake.

Instead of counting calories just don't consume certain foods/drinks.

No fried foods
No high sugar foods
Eat Low/No fat foods
Eat high fiber foods

Don't drink soda
Don't drink Sugar
Don't drink Juice
In fact, drink only water and very little milk.

begonias, for the amount of exercise you are doing, you probably aren't taking in enough calories. You have to add in the amount of calories burned while exercising and eat those too

correct me if I'm wrong

Looking at begonias's history of nutrition screenshots, I think she meant to put "keep it <2000" not struggling to eat >2000.

^^^ That can't be helped, sorry . I know admins are watching this thread to make sure it stays on track, but I'm not sure there's much they can do about PMs. Creeps will most likely disregard the rules anyway.

im super tired today. im waiting for adt to come fix my alarm. i want to take a nap!! then i have to do insanity. today is pure cardio, which is the hardest dvd of the first half. but this is the last week of month one!!

^^really. i think the plyo one is by far the harderst

im thinking about taking a nap too.
i am exhausted.

keep in mind the importance of sleep!
i found myself eating close to 500 calories LESS per day when i got an extra hour or so of sleep. whether it be a nap or sleeping in.
pretty significant

Sometimes a nap is good for you. If your body needs a nap, take a nap. Sleep is rejuvenating.

I just finished a P90X KenpoX workout ... ouch! It's like a Tae Bo workout, only funnier! I get an ab workout just from laughing at Tony.

It's so ridiculously hot here. I've probably had 100 ounces of water already today and I still feel super dehydrated. UGH.

^ That reminds me of Kendra's sleep diet idea on Girls Next Door. The idea is that if you're sleeping, you won't get hungry. That's part of why I try to be in bed by 10 every night and sleep in until 6 or 7. I eat more when I get less sleep.

^exactly. i read somewhere that when youre sleep deprived you eat more because your body wants that energy.

I'm not gaining water weight right now bc I'm not consuming enough sodium to make me retain water. And, based on lady things, I'm not retaining water. So bring on the water, baby!

Drinking water doesn't make you retain water.

i used to eyeball my food and estimate i was eating to beabout 1300/day.
when i got my food scale and kept track of everything i found out-i was eating like 900/day

no telling how long that had been going on and if i wrecked my metabolism b/c of it (although it seems to be fairly normal now)

god i'd love to go for a walk. but i am waiting on a service call. one of those 12-5pm type "appointments"

i just ate lunch & im still on a conference call. think i'll take a little snooze on the couch afterwards. that way if adt shows up i can wake up and answer the door.

plyo IS hard but pure cardio = NO BREAKS and cardio abs is like a joke, i can hardly sit in C sit position, much less lift my legs for several minutes! HAHA

and i agree with getting enough (or extra) sleep. i got 8 hours last night but my body prefers 9 ish. and an afternoon nap never hurt anyone plus my cat likes to nap with me and i like to cuddle with her

haha, when I was in the navy, we'd regularly "eat some sleep"

only because we were some broke ass seamen (not semen, k)

i usually think of a good nights rest or a nap as better than my caloric intake.
it energizes me much more and i feel more alert than anything i can ingest (caffeine included)

Alright, I've tracked my calories for the last seven days. See below (not gonna bother with pie charts and what not). Of note, for my activity level and age/weight http://www.fitday.com says I burn 3,174 calories on an average day.

Day - calories taken in - calories burned
Monday - 3,228 - 3,947
Tuesday - 2,6,71 - 3,174 (no exercise)
Wednesday - 3,182 - 3,947
Thursday - 5,048 - 3,682
Friday - 3,143 - 3,174
Saturday - 5,831 - 3,174 (no exercise)
Sunday - 4,945 - 3,174 (No exercise)

gonna weigh myself just after work around 5 but I'm guessing it'll be around the same as last week.

just make sure you hit your mark or are close to it on calories

if you watch your sodium, sugar and alcohol, the macros will take care of themselves, pretty much

drink water to feel fuller too

IT'S OVER 9,000!!!! lolz..

I picked up some Body Fortress Whey Protein today from the store. (mmm strawberry!!!). I'm going to take a brief nap after I finish devouring 2 roast beef sandwiches containing ~700 cal. total. Then, I'm going to begin the work out schedule. Today is pushups and situps.

oops I was posting from my phone

I meant I feel like a fat kid with my ~2400kcal intake compared to everyone else (girls AND guys) and it's hard for me to eat under 2000kcals. if I wasn't consciously tracking my food, I could eat 3500kcals/day EASY. I just freakin love food. nom nom nom

Your activity level is also way higher than most people on this board. I sit behind a desk all day ... whereas you're on your feet, moving for hours each day. And you're super tall. Those factors alone mean you need at least 2,000 calories per day.
