gronk had no play even without Keuchly. His momentum took him out of the play, end of story.

I think Luke was all over Gronk that play and wouldn't have been that surprised if the flag had stood, after seeing the replay...but with that route, the pass would've been intercepted regardless, so I'm not sure how that penalty works...for example if a pass is tipped, there is no such thing as PI...but I wouldn't have been outraged at the flag if it had stood, as a neutral bystander

I also would've probably thought it was karma for the cheap shot on 95

I just busted out laughing watching this press conference, reporters asking about the flag like 6 times.

It was arguably pass interference, but that was a pick regardless...not to mention more obvious calls the Pats got the benefit of a no call on earlier. If Gronk wants to get that call he at a minimum needs to make an effort to fight back towards the football.

The leg whip on Charles Johnson and head butt after a play on Keuchly were complete bush league typical Pats O-line plays.

Pretty much this, if the ball makes it to the back third of the end zone it's PI all day long. If gronk makes a move back for the ball sure the flag stands, gronks momentum half carried him out the back of the endzone.

Dilfer is so mad.

2 yards? What are you looking at?

Let's ask 2 QBs about pass interference. (Well one qb and Dilfer).

Im not a fan of either team.

I think it was NOT a penalty.

The ball is short of the receiver. Not catchable.

IF the holding did not occur there is no way Gronk catches that pass anyways...if anything he would have been flagged for defensive interference.

These in game retired referees have been a great addition to football broadcasts

Steve young is a douche. And it is exciting to see Ted ginn do his Steve smith impressions

Actual refs explains the rules that shockingly the players and commentators don't know.

Might have been holding but it would have only been 5 yards.

^NO...he is in NO position to make that catch, the Defender that caught it would have been at the ball LONG before Gronk got there. Gronk would be late to the ball, it would have been an INT anyways.

On steve smith and talib getting into it:

Quote :
"Scott: Ray do you think it was too much?

Ray: Yeah it was prolly too much but naw two competitive guys getting into it.

Let's play what if's.....

What if the defender weren't there and the ball weren't intercepted? If it were just one-on-one with Luke and Gronk, would that make it any less pass interference, face guarding, or holding?

^^ at that point its probably holding because the ball is underthrown anyways.

MAYBE pass int but it does not matter because the ball was uncatchable since the defender was at the ball when the holding occurred.

there is NO way gronk would get to that ball before that defender did, even without the holding.

^^^ could have been a totally different outcome. I say Gronke turns around first and lunges forward for the ball or if Luke turns around he may be able to knock the pass down.

There's no way that was PI.. Brady threw a dart right to the Safety, who caught it going to the ground a good 4 yards in front and 1 yard to the right(from the end zone angle) of Gronk. Dude's a freak but that was not a catchable pass regardless of the contact.

However, if there was contact before the pass was thrown it is technically illegal contact or holding.. Haven't seen a still of that yet. OR more importantly, if Brady had gotten it anywhere near Gronk, PI woulda been called.

lol at the national pundits like Steve Young and Ray Lewis being like "well...I have to see what they do against New Orleans"

as if winning 6 in a row, including just winning @SF and vs NE doesn't prove the Panthers are a pretty decent team this season
