by the way, if anyone wants to sign up at http://www.bodog.com pm me. With my referral code they will give me a bonus of 40% of whatever you deposit.... i will give you half of that bonus....

so if you put in 100$ it will give you an extra 10% just for signing up and it will give me 40$ for referring you... which you don't have to earn it is able to be automatically cashed out... so if you deposit 100$ you'll end up with $130.

paypal, neteller or i can just lose it to you at a 1 on 1 poker table... the money counts towards all aspects of bodog

[Edited on January 8, 2007 at 7:28 PM. Reason : the poker table would be easiest... straight into your bodog account]

its not cheating the system or anything, and i am actually referring so i figure its all fair and good... and we both make extra money

I thought Va Tech at -3 1/2 was the easiest bet this bowl season, and at halftime, it looked to be true. Next was Rutgers, which covered, and you'd have to put Ohio State in that category to, huge letdown.

I put $$ on CMU, Louisville, and the over in the Florida game. All 3 came through..

The only 2 lines of all the bowls I felt safe on going in were CMU and Louisville...

Alright fellas i think i have some pretty good advice here so Im gonna re-iterate it one more time. It paid off last year, and it should be a winner again this year.

Quote :
"
2006 playoffs:

Here's what I like for the NFL this week.

Pittsburgh +156 (@Denver)

Carolina +160 (@Seattle)

Put $500 on both of them.

If they both lose, you only lose $1,000.

If just Carolina wins you win $300.

If just Pitt wins you win $280.

If they both win, you win $1,580.

"

Now go do the exact fucking thing for the Eagles moneyline and the Patriots moneyline.

I got Eagles (+210) and Patriots (+205).

So if i lose both i lose $1,000.

If i split i win $525 or $550.

If i win both i win $2,075.

Thats a pretty stupid quote. Bookies get a cut either way as long as they don't totally fuck up on the spread.

^^ and ^^^

haha please.

Lack of understanding of sports betting? Newsflash, ive been doing this for a pretty long time. Bill Simmons (quoted above) has been doing this even longer.

Theres no misunderstanding.

You do realize that most gamblers bet on the losing team, right???

Bookies get a cut either way???? That's absolutely untrue.

Bookies get their ass handed to them from time to time, trust me.

Solid night for me. 3 for 3 so far, waiting on Syracuse. Tough bet because it's at the RAC. I knew to pick Marquette tonight +8.5 but I hate betting against my boys when I'm going to watch the game..

That OK State bet isn't looking so hot so far

There actually is some truth/basis for this statement. Take the NFL for instance, the 2005-2006 season was the FIRST time in legal betting history of the NFL that the public beat the bookies. Prior to that season if you bet completely opposite of the public money on every game you would've come out ahead. Of course how much $$ you bet on each game would've affected your loss/winnings.

Quote :

Not exactly true. They are only guaranteed to make money IF the $$ is exactly 50/50. BUT Bookies/casinos don't get filthy rich just on the juice/vig. They get filthy rich because the public generally makes bad bets.

talking about the bookie shit (i'm not gonna quote all that)......those statements are very misleading. There are several confounding facts that may lead the public to in general lose money against the bookies without implying that it's basically from the ml or general point spread. The most obvious example is parlays and teasers. Teasers in general are sucker bets, which the bookies will have a big edge in no matter what, the public likes to make these bets, which will cause them to in general lose to bookies even more, but it's not like you can take the opposite side of a teaser.

The goal of a bookie is to get 50/50 on each point of the line, which is why the line moves, OF COURSE this doesn't happen every game, but in the long run it DOES happen. If the general public loses in the long run it is bc of sucker bets like teasers, not that they pick the wrong team, that is so stupid. oh yea, and i also know a little bit about this.

but anyway, yea that pitt line was so ridiculous last night, i mean i know depaul was undefeated at home, but wtf?
