As far as guards go, we probably have Torian Graham coming in next year too

okay well that's not going to happen when we have seven slots to fill w/ one class. how do you not think this is a problem? this has nothing to do w/ overexpectations, which you're for some reason talking about.

Have you read anything I've posted? We're going to have 4 very talented players going into that year (Lewis, Purvis, Warren, and Turner) and a couple filler big men who may or may not get better. So a distributing point guard, a dynamic scoring guard, a good three point shooter, and a scoring combo forward. We need a good post offensive player, back-up guards, and back-up forwards. All needs that can be addressed with good recruiting. That happens, and we're back in the tourney.

If you disagree with that...fine. But other than that, I don't what the fuck you are arguing about.

not ncsu-related, however I hope that Jabari Parker decides to visit either Duke or UNC. Because if he does I know he'll want to check out the local LDS church, so i'll get to meet him. Seems like a pretty great kid

Another mormon kid to UNC? Fine with me. I like how they go abroad for a year and leave UNC without a scholarship player.

cool story bro, except its two years. and if you do some research thats one of the biggest reasons roy recruited him. They needed someone to come in last year, but with Paige coming in this year, and Britt next year (both 4 star PG) it works out good for unc to have stilman come back 2014

and im not quite sure Jabari will go on a mission like Stilman is planning.

you keep saying we're not unc or kentucky, but your whole plan revolves around getting 4+ freshmen that are ready to play right away. that's fucking hard to do dude.

it'd also be nice to be able to have a competitive 5 on 5 in practice. also hard to do when you leave scholarships on the table.

i don't need to explain to most people that losing on jefferson fucking sucks, b/c having a talented sophomore is leaps and bounds better than a talented freshman, not to mention that we need depth this year, but that is the whole reason that we're having this argument, so i will mention that.

it's also nice to be able to absorb minor injuries for a few games w/o throwing away your season. that's really hard to do with a short bench.

it doesn't matter now, we'll get who we get. but don't play off jefferson like we didn't need him. we really needed him.

Difference is that their freshmen START and play 30+ minutes a game. We won't need that. We've had freshmen even in the Herb years give us significant minutes and play well (Costner, McCauley, pre-injury Watkins, etc.). They didn't all have to start and be go-to guys. That's what Purvis and Warren will be...with Lewis getting them the ball. Add a transfer 3-point shooter (who will be a junior), and that's your base. Recruit to fill the needs and we're good to go. We'll definitely have our struggles because of inexperience, but the team should have enough talent to make the tourney.

Hey guys, how's the class of 2014 looking for us? What's the story on our tourney hopes that year? Also, how's the current crop of 8th graders looking?

Montrezl Harris released from his LOI at Virginia Tech. Does that eliminate him having to sit out a year?

he wasn't our first choice because he was going to go to Brewster Academy for a prep year. Now it turns out he's qualified to enroll in 2012, and it seems that it's only been within the past few days that he's been hearing from major programs intending to sign him for 2012.

^without any restrictions from VaTech...he would still have to prep a year if he wanted to go to a school within conference per ACC rules

unless:

Quote :
"...waivers of the acc rule must demonstrate objective evidence that proves the student-athlete’s extraordinary personal hardship merits a waiver of the normal application of the policy. these waivers may be considered by the acc faculty athletics representatives, acting as a committee of the whole, only after all appeals to the national letter of intent steering committee and the national letter of intent appeals committee have been processed."

We should take whatever ailments his parents or grandparents have and try to argue he needs to be close to home. It's a stupid rule that only the ACC has anyways. I understand the extra penalty for transfer within conference, but he hasn't even been enrolled there and got to practice with the team.

Straight from the pen of PI!!!

Quote :
"It was expected that no ACC schools would be involved since the rules state that after signing your LOI (Letter of Intent) with an ACC school, you may not transfer to another ACC school unless you sit our a full season (and lose of 1 year of eligibility), however, we received information last week (which we posted in our forum) that NC State was in fact going to go hard after Harrell in hopes of landing him. Our source did not tell us what NC State’s sell would be. Do they think he’d sit out a year, lose a year, just to play for the Pack. No way, there’s basically a zero % chance that’s in the cards, however they may think that Harrell could win an appeal in which case the LOI would be nullified."

"Contrary to popular belief, Montrezl Harrell (2012, 4 star, forward) will in fact be considering NC State when he starts the search for his college.

Harrell is a 6’7 athlete who NC State was after early in his recruitment, but missed out on when Seth Greenberg and VTech came into the picture. Now, with Greenberg ousted, Harrell has asked for, and has received his release. Today we learned the schools he’ll be looking at."

And when I said that his bio said something about "school" but never said which "school"

Now it says he went to State

So, hey packinsider, I hope you take my advice to heart

I agree though. The typical reports consist of a twitter search quote and a story with no substance labeled as "breaking" or "update". At least I didn't fund that California trip lol.
