You should show up before at 9. If they are like other crossfits, that's the free WOD.

Or, I guess that could fuck up your matches.

yeah, i like what i've seen with that CFT so far.

I didn't know that you're a Marine.

Sounds FUN

Will you be investing in some barbells/bumperplates/plate loaded kettlebell handles? Do a search for "wright rubber crossfit." Decent bumperplates at a good price. It should take to their forums.

[Edited on May 9, 2008 at 8:49 PM. Reason : if you are thinking outside, alone scratch the bumpers and do normal plates]"

I bet I can score a tractor tire for free. Don't know if I'll bother with the hammer and river rocks, though. I don't want my backyard to be TOO cluttered! I don't plan on buying any barbells unless I find them super cheap on craigslist or something. I would make them out of pipe and concrete, where i wouldn't mind leaving them under a shed outside and tossing them to the ground at the end of a set.

The biggest thing I can think of that would be an obstacle, besides buying a house or condo in the middle of town or a neighborhood rather than somewhere with enough space to do it, is insurance being a problem. i don't know if it would screw me on getting a homeowner's policy to be running a small business in the backyard, and i don't know if liability insurance and stuff would be cost prohibitive (i mean, it would be on a small scale, mostly with people i know, but still.)

I usually try to make it around the block a couple of times, but today I was too hot to take a hike, so I ended up sweating while spreading mulch and planting plants.

IF you are still looking at buying, you could go the large peice of land route and divide the property into 2 pieces.

If you are going to get the tire, you might as well hit it, too. It's not like sledges are that expensive/you could probably find one in an old barn (i know I can).

I would kill for a heavy tire. My old gym had them and they would kick your ass or tear your biceps, whichever came first.

Hey Duke, do you jump after you squat or do you just stand up and squat back down?

When I do burpees, it's a fluid squat jump.

I'm not sure on cf's rx, you can find thier definition on their site.
