i never did those card games before this past spring when a friend of mine got me playing some of the magic online - it's highly addictive and a lot of fun when the computer is worrying about all the little things like points, damage, and rules...i can imagiane it's a huge pain in the ass to do it with human scoring

Kinda scary how hyped up Lair was (I was at least interested in it) and now it seems that no one on here has played it yet. Now I think the best thing about it is the ability to remote play it on the PSP. Thought about getting it just for that.

I own a PS3 and my answer is no. Not yet, especially since I know you have a 360. Come back next spring to summer timeframe. The price will have dropped even further by then and more titles will be around. MGS4, Foklore, Killzone2, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, FF13, Gran Turismo 5, UT2007, and Little Big Planet are the big blips for Sony from now and til that timeframe. I'd wait til at least 3 of those drop (and are well received...recently Lair and Heavenly Sword did not make the cut, Warhawk did).

Outside of Warhawk and Motorstorm everything else is one of those pick up and shelf within 2 weeks titles, if that. Since next gen systems are measured now by their online capabilities, the PSN network has a longggg ways to go to get near Live! I'm sure most owners in this thread disagree and I'll get a bit of minor shit for it - but honestly I'm trying my best to be objective (which is easy to do) considering I got mine for free and have had it for almost a month now. Only plunge this moment if 2 or more of the following options apply to you:

x Want/need a very quality DVD player
x Very interested in 1080p fidelity playback with Bluray / considering a nextgen DVD player
x Live for contributing to Folding@Home
x Have lots of PS2 games you'd like to be playing (60 gig model). Does neat job with some anti aliasing.

I agree - if you already have a next gen system, you don't HAVE to have one right now.

But I have 8 or 9 titles for the PS3 and have played all of them extensively (except Tiger Woods 2008 which I just got). Almost all are cross-console releases. But I also play and still buy PS2 games on it. Hell, this last week I got SOCOM: Combined Assault (after playing through Fireteam Bravo 2 on the PSP) and God of War (yeah, I never played it when it came out).

SO, I just got home after work and Lair was sitting here waiting for me. I don't know what everyone's problem with this game is, IT ROCKS. It's funnest thing ever to fly around on a dragon, the controls are super responsive, the game is SO fast paced. They really nailed everything!!!




Just kidding. This game is a STEAMING pile of turd. Take the opposite of everything I said up there and that's you've got the tip of the iceberg. I played for about 10 minutes, and then I couldn't take anymore. It was THAT bad. Easily the worst game I've played on PS3. And that's counting Spiderman 3.

I realize this news will probably make a lot of you really happy, so enjoy!

have you tried it? because the slo-mo is much more of a fluid experience...it also has destructible environments that make for some interesting firefights...for example, you can take cover behind a concrete pillar, but after taking gunfire, it will crumble and allow you to start getting hit

also a big fan of the special traits like slow targeting and shooting someone in the throat and watch them clutch it as they die

very much more advanced than payne imho

The hunt for El Dorado, the lost city of gold, begins this November as Sony officially confirms that PS3 exclusive Uncharted: Drake's Fortune with be hitting the US on the 20th of that month. According to GameStop's website, his puts it either on the same day or within a day of heavy hitting titles like Haze, Rock Band, Mass Effect, and History Channel: Battle for the Pacific, the latter of which deals with similar island themes, only likely in more realistic and therefor boring fashion. I know I have said it before, but this holiday gaming season is going to see me living penniless in the streets by January.

it does support h.264, but not with 5.1 surround (don't quote me on that).

XVID support would be even more welcome, but DIVX is a step in the right direction.

I'm stuck at work, so can't play FIFA yet... but the initial reports I'm hearing on the internets don't sound too good.... DAMN i really want this game to be good.
