^ that's what happened to me. doubles was fun as hell until me and my partner got into the high 30s. then it was just bullshit.. especially on the snow level with the two bases... holy shit I can't even remember the name of maps on halo 3

So I went back to halo 3 for a bit and I sucked more then i did before but i had a few questions. Is there a secret to using the sword? Cuz it seems like when i have the sword and i run at some body they just back up and mow me down before i even get close to them. But if the guy is coming at me with a sword i back up and start shooting but they keep getting closer and closer until they are close enough for the death blow. Is it just bad timing on my part? also the needler is pissing me off. I can unload a clip on someone and they turn around and kill me but let someone else shoot me with that thing and i die in like 1/2 sec. Ive been trying to reach level 20 so i can go up in rank but i keep getting stuck with shitty teams. When Im the MVP of a losing round i know something aint right haha.

You have to know when to have the sword out, don't just run around with it out. When using the needler (if you must) make sure the reticule is red so the needles are homing, when being targeted by a needler just strafe and you should be alright.

I dunno if they fixed this, but one thing about using the sword is never start out with a normal attack, start with a melee attack. This makes it take about half the amount of time before your next swing so you pretty much win every sword fight.

^ when playing swords: normal attack, melee, normal attack...winner EVERY TIME...if you do it right the second normal attack is twice as fast directly after a melee attack

also use boxer setup...helps with timing and being able to aim melee attack if you're dealing with a moving target...much fun!!!

to my knowledge, no. they are working on new maps currently but they aren't done yet. they're supposed to release more information about when they will be available this week, probably in the weekly update friday.

I think Halo 3 is much more fun to play with friends than CoD4... esp. forge mode.

I mean I love CoD4 and believe it is a better game (playing until 7am is not uncommon for me), but Halo 3 just seems to be a more social and entertaining game when you are goofing around with 3 or 4 friends

But know it is competing with Super Smash Bros on the Wii too... So many games,, so little time.

I usually play Halo w/ friends over COD because everyone can play online against other people.

Yeah, there will probably never be any new weapons on Halo. It seems like they spent an incredible amount of time trying to balance them and I think they did a good job. The assault rifle takes care of all the people who used to lame with the BR, but if you're good with the BR it's still the best.

unfortunately for me.. the sidewinder remake is a complete disappointment :-/ i just think they could have done something much better... still waiting for a good, open vehicle map (sans snow and ice) for some head on wars, and a good urban warfare map (structures of human buildings, etc)

is it just me or do fragmentation grenades seem a lot weaker then in halo 1 and 2.

I remember when i used to play 1v1 or 2 v2 in halo 1 i used to score kills all the time with a well place grenade. Now in Halo 3 grenades feel more like those from counter strike. throw them and if lucky may score a kill directly or kill a enemy whose already weakened. Mostly though they just soften up the target a little before the assault
