just found a band called "this town needs guns" (not a big fan of the name though) and I really like what Ive heard. Reminds me of a mix between some 90s bands I liked. maybe Q and Not U mixed with American Football and the owls? I dono.

http://www.myspace.com/thistownneedsguns

If anyone has their album "Animals" that would be awesome. I need to find a place to get music these days :x

what are most people using to get albums these days? stuff you need invites too like waffles or what? i hate having to bug people in here. I have a pretty good size list of albums I am always interested in checking out and really like to check out full albums before i buy anything these days.

i use torrents (http://www.thepiratebay.org, http://www.demonoid.com, http://www.isohunt.com, etc) and even google

i found that rapidshare link by googling. things that usually work are the band/album title (obviously) and then a keyword like "upload" or "link" or specific site names like "sharebee" or "rapidshare"

there's so many blogs out there that post links like that so it works surprisingly well. the most consistent method for me is definitely torrents though.

word. maybe ill look into getting back into torrents. I have occasionally looked for stuff just googling like you said, I'll try that some more too , because you're right, there are so many blogs and forums about this stuff these days.

I really need to check out copeland's newest record "you are my sunshine" when I get home If I can find it. They have been a consistently good band. Their last record was a slight dip but still very enjoyable.

Also, getting towards the end of the year and not a ton of CDs left that I am genuinely anticipating (surprises from albums you werent anticipating is always good too though). I certainly haven't had the time to check out as many new records as in the past (seems normal ever since I moved and now that I'm working full time though :/) but I still picked up quite a few this year and have enjoyed a good group of solid releases.

anyone have Criteria's "En Garde" ? I know its not a new one but I have had trouble finding it. I really enjoy "when we break" and I'm a Steve Pedersen fan in general (white octave, cursive etc.). Was listening to "when we break" today and remembered I had never gotten around to getting "en garde"

the new annuals record is a lot like the old annuals record...non-descript and noodly in places, neither remarkably good nor remarkably bad

but i really, really hate the production

new copeland record is very good. They still have never put out a record that touches Beneath Medicine Tree or In Motion imo (both great records) but so far I think this surpasses their last album (Eat, Sleep, Repeat). I wish it wasnt so mellow as I liked some of their up-tempo stuff mixed in on their early albums but they are still putting out some solid music. 7/10 for me.

i'm sure you read it, but there was a cover story in last weeks independent about the recording of their and the rosebuds new albums

both were recorded at home/practice space

speaking of the rosebuds, does anybody have a thier new one yet?

the rosebuds record could be a little livelier sounding, but only because i feel like a song like "bow to the middle" needs to be explosive

but the annuals jank just sounds dead
