I rage quit because there was some bullshit going on and it turns out I was indeed host... ie. I get first shot on a guy coming around a corner and he somehow annihilates me a second later. Kill cam shows he never even got touched. So I quit and the host migration screen comes up, showing that I was host and lag comp is bullshit

ah gotcha. i'm rarely the host I think. My connection is strong enough to host a party or not have much lag, but not strong enough to become host thankfully.

^^ Yeah, I actually upgraded my internet back when I was playing MW2 because my upstream was crap and when I hosted and a bunch of air support went up I had trouble. After that it was great and didn't ever have any problems.

Now because I generally have one of the better connections I'm constantly dealing with bullets that appear to bend around corners and shooting people in the back 3-4 times only for them to spin around and hit me once. When the kill cam comes up it looks nothing like what just happened.

I, too, have noticed some bullshit lag compensation. When I'm up here on Time Warner I have worse internet than when I'm at home, yet I seem to get lag comp advantages quite often. Back at home when I get a 4 bar I almost don't want to play because I know some bullshit is about to go down.

works well with the riot shield...in the moment the enemy realizes his shots arent killing you and he hesitates and stops firing, bam, right in the jugular

also i used the tomahawk a good bit in Black Ops which is basically the same thing as far as how to use the throwing knife, so I got some practice in the previous game...but as long as you're within 50 feet of somebody you don't need to change the arc and lob the knife, just put the aim marker on your enemy and throw it

You can also try running scavenger with it so you don't have to keep finding it and picking it up. Scavenger packs refill the knife

I almost never actually aim the knife, for me its a quick draw for when you run out of ammo or come up on someone and don't think you can pull the gun up in time, for me this is the advantage of the knife (not to mention it doesn't show up on radar).

i've been having so much fun with the C4 that it'll take a conscious effort to play with the class i have the knife in. I love sneaking up on a sniper/camper and tossing the C4 pack on or under him only to walk around the corner flipping the switch on the detonator action movie cliche style.

last night i don't know what got into me but it was like i had "head shot mode" turned on.

man i didn't get one single Throwing Knife kill last night i think it's partly to do with my habit to aim before firing. as i previously posted i struggle to hip fire first and then aim and that gets me killed in a lot of moments. when i bring my knife up i try to aim it instead of just letting it fly.

oh well, played pretty damn well last night. I even busted out the Riot Shield for a few rounds. I have always hated these things mainly because I went up against them and never used them myself. But it's so much fun to see people get visibly frustrated and just start unloading clips and lobbing grenades at you.

Once you see them pull back to grab the grenade is the perfect throwing knife moment. You even have a second to aim it.

I always try to run a quick circle around a riot shield to stab the guy in the back

and I've struggled big time since I prestige'd. I think I've made it through 3-4 matches before rage quitting the last couple of nights.

^^that one took me a couple of evenings to get too, but it's my favorite emblem so far so it was worth it. Domination is definitely the way to go, so they don't spawn right behind you. I had the same thing happened to me 3 or 4 times, get to 8 or 9 kills only to be killed just shy. I finally had the best luck on Mission, in the Southwest? corner/border of the map, the narrow ramp behind a stack of pallets with a Type95. You can survey a large portion of the map without much exposure. #10 was actually an assisted suicide, the guy panicked as I was shooting him and backpedaled off the bridge.

Easiest way to get the Luigi emblem is to play drop zone. The killstreaks aren't actually yours.

^congrats! my next goal is to get a MOAB. I set up a specialist class last night and had one good game on mission where I got to 21 kills before getting popped. My heart was racing once i got ~18 kills. Subsequent attempts were miserable. I wish you got a title or emblem or something for getting one.

you don't get any title or emblems for MOABs? jeez, that's a bummer. I've gotten up to 15-16 kills with a specialist package but I don't play with it that much. Now that i'm playing with at least 2 teammates every match I feel like i'm not doing enough for the team when i run specialist. It's definitely a lone-wolf setup.


i tried playing Drop Zone last night in order to get the Cpt. Price Luigi emblem, man that game is a madhouse. I jumped into one that was already going on and there was just shit flying everywhere. I had no chance at getting it. 10 kill gun streak is a lot harder than it sounds.

heh funny thing is, i run support with UAV/CUAV most of the time, and i did 10 in a row several times, but then when i try to do it i have trouble.

seemed harder on some maps than others.. i got it on carbon oddly enough (i hate that map).. picked an odd corner kinda on the way to one of the capture points and picked the same 3 guys off a couple of times, haha.

i think silencer/being invisible to radar/killstreaks is important, so people aren't chasing your dot. helped me at least.

and no way i could ever get a MOAB. i got nervous at 8 kills, heh.

my guess is that not having a title or emblem as a reward will drastically reduce instances of people boosting for MOAB's like they did in MW2. That combined with the fact that it no longer ends the match and I haven't run into a single match with nuke boosters, whereas it was rampant in MW2.

nukes were easy to get with OMA and Danger Close. Harrier, Chopper Gunner and Nuke. Domination on Wasteland was the easiest map for me to get one on.

i never got a nuke on MW2

i had some killstreaks of 30+ but never with the nuke equipped

i don't think i ever got higher than about 17 or 18 kills with a nuke equipped

the 'empty an entire clip into your enemies' is really tough with all the lag comp issues and what not. i've tried it a few times. i think the easiest way would be to play with the MK14

perfectionist for the sniper rifle is pretty easy to get. I haven't tried with any other guns yet.


With MW2 if you died you could always hit Select or was it Start while dead and see your opponent's radar and see where the guy going for the nuke was hiding. It was cheap, but fun to ruin someone's nuke streak that way. So many hate messages received because of that and no idea how I found them so easily.
