Sand Robot adding great content in this thread. Really defended his point about a shitty OOC.

It's not bad, we have a top 25 team coming to our house.

so, best we can go next year is 8-4. TOB accepts that challenge. He'll probably pull off 5-7 or 6-6

the only way you can win with a pocket passer is to have superior talent to the other team.

we need a scrambling qb. The ultimate compensation for lack of a running game, offensive line or good wrs.

What a tool. We play a decent 1AA, an in-state rival at home, a mid-major, and a good mid-major.

This is on par with just about every BCS school. For instance, Alabama has VTech in ATL and hosts 2 crappy 1AAs Georgia State and UT-Chattanooga.

Sandy Vagina acts like the top programs play BCS teams for every OOC game.

Based on this year La Tech is better and ECU is about equal. They play 2 1AAs for their other 2 games.

ECU is a garbage game with no upside we should never play

La Tech will blow next year with a new coach. See Southern Miss

Whether we like it or not we are stuck playing ECU. They are 7-4 this year.

In part because those teams can't play themselves and the rest of the conference blows.

this is exactly why our SOS is shitty year after year right? La. Tech, who was a shit program when we scheduled them, is losing their coach and a large chunk of their good offensive players including their top WR and QB. "Alabama playing VT and 2 1AAs". Alabama played Michigan on a neutral field, played WKU (FBS team but they are not great), FAU (a worse FBS team), and a FCS team so I dont know what the fuck you are talking about. Teams like Alabama and LSU etc dont need to schedule a super strong OOC schedule because they arent in a shitty football conference like NCSU is

also give me a second to laugh at your commentary on our schedule with aforementioned LTU. central mich, and FCS Richmond the "STRONG 1AA TEAM" which is like winning a silver medal....................in the special olympics

What is seriously mindblowing is the level of bullshit people believe and defend. It's like in your minds:

GUY SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT MY TOB

GUY NOT LIKE NC STATE

GUY NOT REAL FAN

GUY MAKE ME NOT THINK OBJECTIVELY AND I WILL IGNORE REASON AND FACTS TO DEFEND MY TEAM

Let's be honest. Am I more negative than the average person, yes. Do I hate TOB, yes. Does our schedule suck balls? Yes. Is LTU going to be worth a shit next year or were they worth a shit when we added them to our schedule? No. Will our OOC be one of the worst in the ACC, making our SOS overall one of the worst in the nation? Yes. Will you guys get the vag bleed and bitch about this post? Yes.

and after all of this this sad thing will be...............................................

TOB will still not win more than 5-6 games

We just fucking scheduled it Mr. Know-it-all.

We were playing Richmond, ECU, Central Michigan, and Pitt. La Tech became the replacement for Pitt.

My NCSU football "what I'm thankful for"

Awesome facilities
A fanbase that will support a great program we become one
We are in a state with a ton of talent on the HS level, so whenever we get a coach that recruits well we should be good to go there
UNC scandal is a continuous cloud hanging over that program
Success on the NFL level by many Amato recruits that makes our program look better

I apologize then for that as I had thought they were on our schedule for a while (which is the case for football scheduling).

We had to take what we could get. But still, would it not hurt to play a big OOC game every once in a while? It could help keep some kids from leaving NC for SEC/B1G schools. I mean how awesome would it be to have a home/home with a program like Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio St, USC, etc

Not like this is news or can't be figured out but...

Ran into TOB's nephew last night in Charleston (I've known him since I moved down here 7 years ago) and he said the following:

- TOB and Debbie aren't the best of friends

- He knows he's gone if he loses to BC

- He's pretty sure he's fine if he beats BC and wins bowl game.

- He's been planning to retire after next season regardless.

That's all.

Everything there makes sense except the last part. Why would he retire after one year with a new QB? Makes much more sense to bolt after Glennon is gone or see out the next QB

I thought his contract was up after next year...but I could be wrong.

This sounds bad...but his nephew makes it sound like he doesn't really give a shit about NC State anymore. He loves his players and he loves coaching football, but he doesn't like his boss and he's tired of fickle fans. If he can keep coaching through the end of his contract, then he will because he loves the game. But if he gets fired, fuck it...he's still getting paid.

How about Shadrach Thornton?

Kid a pretty stellar true freshman season for a 3-star recruit who was behind creecy for a lot of the season:
888 total yards, 4.6 rushing yards per carry, 9.3 passing.

He should be a weapon in the upcoming years.

I don't know if it was mentioned, but Earl Wolff made first team All-ACC, and Amerson and Mattes made second. Bishop, Cato-Bishop, Glennon, and Wentz got votes.

Quote :
"GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP & ACSMA) - Clemson, Florida State and North Carolina dominate the 2012 All-ACC Football first team.
The league announced its all-conference team Monday and six offensive players from the 15th-ranked Tigers made the first team. The 13th-ranked Seminoles and Tar Heels had five players apiece.
The teams were determined by a vote of 46 members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.
Quarterback Tajh Boyd, running back Andre Ellington and receiver DeAndre Hopkins were Clemson's skill players on the first team. They were joined by tackle Brandon Thomas, center Dalton Freeman and tight end Brandon Ford.
Boyd led the ACC with 34 touchdown passes while Hopkins had league-bests of 16 total TD catches and an average of 104 yards receiving for the conference's best offense.
Nine teams had at least one first-team selection. There were no unanimous picks to the first team, but North Carolina running back Gio Bernard was chosen as a first-teamer on 45 ballots.
Bernard, who had an ACC-leading 1,228 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns on the ground, joins Boyd as repeat first-team selections.
Bernard, a punt returner who also was picked as the first-team specialist, was joined by guard Jonathan Cooper -- the Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner as the league's top offensive lineman -- plus linebacker Kevin Reddick and defensive tackle Sylvester Williams.
Four Florida State defensive players -- ends Bjoern Werner and Tank Carradine, cornerback Xavier Rhodes and safety Lamarcus Joyner -- join kicker Dustin Hopkins on the first team.
The Atlantic Division-champion Seminoles led the leage in all four major defensive stat categories, and Hopkins became the all-time NCAA career scoring leader among kickers this season and led the league with 58 extra points and 24 field goals.
Offensive guard Omoregie Uzzi was the only player from Georgia Tech on the first team. The Yellow Jackets will play Florida State on Saturday night in the Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship game. /p>
Boston College (receiver Alex Amidon and linebacker Nick Clancy), Virginia (offensive tackle Oday Aboushi and linebacker Steve Greer) and Duke (cornerback Ross Cockrell and punter Will Monday) were the only other schools with multiple first-team picks.

Peter King MMQB Mention:

Quote :
"Factoid of the Week That May Interest Only Me

Our new college football maven at I, Pete Thamel, told me a great little fact I didn't know for the "Sports Illustrated NFL Podcast with Peter King" this week that I wanted to pass along.

Russell Wilson transferred from North Carolina State to Wisconsin to play his last season in 2011 because he had a baseball career option and wouldn't commit to playing spring football for the Wolfpack. And coach Tom O'Brien wanted his quarterback to play spring football, which backup Mike Glennon would do. Add to that the fact that Glennon might have transferred with two seasons of eligibility left if Wilson had been the starting quarterback for his final year in 2011.

There was a method to O'Brien's madness: Wilson, as good as he'd been, had a year left to play. Glennon had two. O'Brien, without a top quarterback behind Glennon, knew he'd be in good shape at the position for two years if Glennon stayed.

When Wilson transferred, he didn't have to sit out a year because he'd already completed his undergrad degree work. So he had the great year at Wisconsin and got drafted 75th overall by the Seahawks. He's started all 12 Seattle games this season, and was the league's highest-rated quarterback in November.

Glennon, a 6-foot-6 prospect who should be picked in the top 50 of next April's draft, threw for 6,702 yards in two years, with 61 touchdowns and 26 interceptions.

Everything worked out great for all involved. Except, I guess, for O'Brien, who was fired last week. The 15-10 record in Glennon's two seasons wasn't good enough.
