This is why I haven't lumped O'Reilly into the "Typical Fox News Pundit" category in years.

O'Reilly is still a hate-filled jackass and bastion of close-minded social conservatism. He's just been wholly eclipsed by Beck and Hannity.

every time they get together, i always feel like O'Reilly acts like an arrogant dickhole. I'm not sure if it's because he thinks he's being funny, because IMO he certainly never comes off as just being playful and funny.

i swear every time they get together he refers to TDS viewers as stoned slackers. I'm not sure why he's got so much contempt for TDS viewers, but his attitude towards it all always seems very condescending.

totally

they're also no slouch to know that it's capitalistically demographically brilliant to do so

not sure if there's any equivalent to William F Buckley vs Gore Vidal these days, but it's nice to know there's people out there who try

I really enjoy watching the two of them debate, although I wish O'Reilly wouldnt try to be funny and I wish Stewart would try to be less funny so there could be some serious conversation. I think the two of them represent a large swath of the population.

He was in such good spirits, that he decided to hold a press conference, put on his glasses and condescendingly yell at everyone.

O'Reilly was trying to say Fox shouldn't take the blame for these kind of numbers among republicans a week or two back, and that Fox wasn't causing such beliefs.

Yet they keep using socialist and democrat together in the same sentence as much as Bush did with Iraq & Al Qaeda/Terrists/Bin Laden/WMDs

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4016232/college-skews-political-spectrum

quick summary:

college graduates are more likely to have liberal views on gay
marriage and abortion and not support school prayer.

therefore fox concludes liberal professors are pushing there ideas on
young impressionable minds, instead of concluding that college teaches
you critical thought and that college graduates are more likely to
exercise it on these issues.

The kicker: "Should kids still go to college?... well, that's still up in the air"

Frankly, I think its due, in some part, to the fact that most college students are not responsible for their own welfare, and some that are responsible only need to maintain a GPA. College life is quite idyllic compared to the real world, with a lot of socialist aspects. Thus, it's very easy for students to develop liberal viewpoint.

can't possibly compound with the fact you're exposed to new people outside your social sphere you might not have met at home and realize they're not the devil?.. meanwhile you can totally retain some of your political leanings

Why can't it "compound" with what I stated? I did say "due in some part" not "due entirely"

completely anecdotal of course, but all of the most hard right leaning people I knew in college lived completely off their parents while the ones paying their own way, or partial way, were much more social liberal (self included)

So what exactly is wrong with Fox' headline?

CNN did say that it was the FBI building when it first happened.

nothing - just noting the similar headlines. I thought Fox would have been a bit more out there. You know - mentioning Jihad or something.

also,

"Was Anti-Tax Pilot’s IRS Attack an Act of Terror – or a Criminal Act?

Criminal act – The guy was angry at the IRS and lost it. It’s that simple. 53% (15,356 votes)

Domestic terror – Clearly his anti-tax beliefs drove him to target the IRS and send a lasting message. That’s terror. 34% (9,911 votes)

Not sure – Can’t you argue that there’s a bit of terror in a lot of criminal acts? 10% (2,840 votes)

Other (post a comment). 3% (909 votes)

Total Votes: 29,016"

Clearly Faux News wants to paint this as terrorism so they can blame Obama for it when they spew out their list of "OMG Terror Attacks on Obama's watch!!1". It's pathetic.

but they DON'T want to paint this as terrorism, cause it's from a guy who has leanings towards their views, albeit far more radical than Fox has

^ the only politician he named specifically was Bush, and the tax laws that he felt screwed him the most went into effect under Reagan in 1986, although he didn't use the name.

"The recent presidential puppet GW Bush and his cronies in their eight years certainly reinforced for all of us that this criticism rings equally true for all of the government. "
