Yeah. GS will be fine.
http://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoCarpet.asp?Itemid=8064&MakeId=10&ModelId=232
Complete carpeting. Way too expensive though! It's more than half what you paid for the car quinn!!!
We can remove the sound deadening between the carpet and the floor board and maybe rent a rug/carpet steam cleaner to give the carpet a good ol' once over. Plus a worn out carpet will weigh less than a brand new one
The plastic trim in the hatch area don't weigh much at all. Putting them back to make it look stock will be much more appealing to the eye with negligible penalty to weight, and keep us in the stock class to boot.

(Paging TKE-Teg)
Started swapping out pads and rotors on the M3 today. The front went fine, because I'd already had the rotors off for other things.
The rear is being a huge pain in the ass, the freaking rotor mounting screw stripped out (just like happened on the left front the first time I took the rotor off). They're hex bolts on BMW's and they strip so easy, argh
I know the left rear is going to be the same way too, raaage. Drilling them out is taking forever. 12/29/2012 10:55:38 PM |

Dropped it from the bottom. That was pretty fun! Hard to decide to keep the ol' setup or go with a newer one... Something to be said for keepin it original, but there's so much fun potential with a newer motor that's actually in the 3 digit HPs!!! 12/30/2012 6:27:40 PM |

Eh, it's 10+ years old and has 145k miles. You'd think if that was the case, it would have failed at an autocross, or a track day, or during any of the times I've been a whole lot more aggressive with it on the street. My guess is just wear and tear, although it is kinda shitty to break a rear diff on a stock-engined Z06, with still pretty reasonable mileage. As far as I know, it's never worn slicks or been drag raced, either (I never have, and the original owner was an anesthesiologist, not a dumb redneck).
I had the fluid changed about a year ago when I had a local shop specializing in Corvettes service/repair some stuff. I can't imagine they would have put the wrong shit in it, though...I mean, Corvettes are what they do (hell, the owner has about a half dozen C4 ZR1s sitting in the showroom, haha). 1/5/2013 12:54:56 AM |

NOS sunvisors in the Valiant, fixed heater.
Fixed dome light.
More tape on the seats
New battery cables, rebuilt carb.
Next will be heater vents and trunk pad. Radio cutout around the delete plate is pretty beat up... Probably going to fix that as well.
Also began rebuilding that Ford 260 V8 I was advertising in the classifieds thread. Probably have a better chance of selling after its at least clean and painted. One rocker/pushrod/valve is weird too.
Duke reminded me of C4 ZR1's in his post, man those were badass. I've had multiple chances in the past to buy those with low miles at decent prices. The nature of the engine always convinced me to avoid them.
Unrelated... What the hell kind of potmetal are the contacts on a battery cable / terminals on a battery made of? I swear I can ding one with my bare hands... More malleable than pure lead it seems!
I hear changing the shocks and struts in a 1994 BMW 325 is a pain in the ass? You have to remove the speakers and CD changer in the trunk? What the hell! 1/6/2013 6:09:39 PM |

are there parts that you break regularly? like once or twice a year? My engine setup used to be in a dedicated drift car (~300whp) and that guy was going through transmissions like nothing. He's no noob drifter either

nah, i rarely break anything. in fact, i usually DD that car. issues are never engine/trans related. usually just miscellaneous things to be expected from an unreasonably low 20-some-year-old car. tie rods, rear toe rods, ball joints, that sort of stuff.1/11/2013 7:59:25 PM |

nahh dude she's all original....
it needs some work but not too much rust repair.
she's a manual drums power steering factory A/C car with a 2v 352 big block (220hp) and a Cruise-o-matic tranny
has all the weird stuff i want without having any desirable options i'd kick to the curb like decent tranny, engine with any serious power, or half ass 1961 disk brakes.
Now since i got a big block car that's significantly larger than originally planned... do i go big block or swap it to a modern ford v8 ?
picked it up for ~5700
