I honestly think this game will be like most of Duke's games so far. Close early on, but by the end Duke's experience and depth will wear down Butler and it won't really be close.

I'm not seeing an officiating issue right now. I'm seeing that it looks like the refs are letting a lot of banging and physical play go on, but on both sides. Officiating problems for me come when things are one sided, not when it's called loose or tight for both squads.

Yeah the refs are letting them play hard, happened a lot in this tourney so far.

Both teams seem to be taking advantage of this equally.

What's annoying is that this usually changes in the 2nd half, and for some reason the refs start calling it tighter.

skokiaan, I'm sure you understand basketball well enough to know exactly what I meant. In truth, if the refs are letting a lot of stuff go, it is generally the responsibility of the players to recognize that and adjust their game accordingly. We're not talking about one team throwing punches and elbows and the other is the Golden Girls walking around all fragile. The refs are calling it equally for both sides. There are some calls either way that could be argued, but it's not one sided at all.

And let's avoid name calling, eh?

I'm a State fan, and that's my only team. In this case, I'm pulling for Duke, for a variety of reasons, mainly because I have to pull for someone, or it's pointless to watch. The way you're complaining, seems to me like you're pulling for Butler.

The problem I have with officials allowing this much contact is it's very tough to know when is too much contact. I don't want to see touch fouls called but there is something seriously wrong if the big oaf played all half with 0 fouls.
