dude is such a homer it's funny.
I know that I dont contribute anything to Sports talk, but I love him going off on UCONN. It reminds me of when the boss starts talking about the golden child that can do no wrong.

Yeah NyM410 is completely unobjective when it comes to UConn and it is very annoying. Almost as annoying as State fans who are also UNC fans. 3/7/2012 3:26:31 PM |

there was an article on espn.com where they anonymously asked coaches in all the major leagues about teams within the conference. the uconn statement said they run absolutely no offense. tried to find it but I couldnt.3/7/2012 4:37:24 PM |

They don't jack 3s like 90% of college teams these days but they run similar sets for Lamb that they've done for Gordon and Hamilton in the past.
Aside from that it's a motion offense much like most college teams. 3/7/2012 4:47:35 PM |

does UNC "run an offense" or does Roy basically say "ok guys, just go out there and outrun the other team, and give it to Tyler and John in the paint, golly shucks" 3/7/2012 5:10:09 PM |

Quote : | "Connecticut: The Huskies don't run offense. I mean they literally don't run a fricking offense. They never have, but in the past they always had players that were better than you. Jeremy Lamb is not great at just getting his own shot. Andre Drummond doesn't have any post moves. It's all dunks and alley-oops. Shabazz Napier is a shoot-first point guard, but he still has a way to go with his lack of physicality, the way he uses ball screens. He tries to run away from everybody, whereas Kemba Walker would come at you, knock you off balance and get you in foul trouble. I liked Napier better last year in a secondary role. Sometimes when guys get too big of a role, they're not ready for it. Plus, they have two guys competing for every spot, and sometimes that's bad for chemistry. You can see there's a lot going on with Drummond and Alex Oriakhi. They're committed to Drummond, and as a result Oriakhi's numbers have dropped." |

They cheat the game. Everybody raves about this defensive juggernaut, but that's bull. They dribble the clock out and mug you out of the building. Part of the reason they lost to Cornell and Davidson is because when you get into the tournament, refs outside the Big Ten don't fall for that

Stanford's freshman, Chasson Randle, has 27 first half points
set the Pac-10 tournament record for most points in a half
we remember Randle -- he's the one who made 4 FTs with under 30 seconds just when we were trying to make a late comeback

so I was wondering why stan hearth was fired from arkansas after leading them to the ncaa's twice in a row for the first time in forever
Quote : | "The Razorbacks received a 12th seed but lost in the first round against 5th seeded Southern California with the final score of 77–60. On March 26, 2007, Heath's coaching career at Arkansas ended; he believed that lackluster ticket sales played a role.[1] It was reported that Heath would get a settlement of $900,000 dollars over the next three years after being fired. Heath had been earning $772,943 (including media contract, endorsements, etc.) plus an additional $71,000 tax deferred annuity and UA retirement account." |
makes sense, who'd wanna pay to see that 50 points per game garbage

Silly. This year the team isn't cohesive for a ton of reasons but in the past that is just flat out stupidity. UNC has almost as many McD's AA's on their current roster as UConn has had in their existence. Those players were only better than others because their coach is one of the best ever at developing talent and coaching it up. He's a scumbag who broke rules but he isn't some schlub who relies on talent only.
Wonder how many titles the anonymous coach has? Unless its Pitino or Boeheim, I'm guessing zero.
