why does it take so freaking long for nail polish to dry? I put a base and top coat on the polish but it usually doesn't take the top coat that long by itself to dry. All these nail forums say 20 minutes for touch dry, 2 hours to set and 24 hours to completely dry. I don't have time for this shit. Annoyed.

punchmonk I may have to come over sooner than March 9th to pick up that DVD because hubs needs it that weekend apparently. I'm going to bring my gel nail kit and do your nails it'll last a week chip-free and shiny

p.monk- make sure to give the coats time to dry inbetween, or you'll get those stupid bubbles plus it will take longer all-around. Also, running them under ice-cold water can help "set" the polish. I generally do my nails while I'm watching tv or reading, and make sure I have all my "implements" (beer, snacks, phone) handy so I don't worry about messing them up.

Also, fuck a bottom coat.

How is no 'poo going for the other people who started it?

I am frustrated. I have washed it maybe 3 times since I started, when my head gets very itchy. I feel like that is my scalp saying "I need to be washed with something other than baking soda." But then for the next week to week and a half, my hair is back in that oily looking icky phase. Basically the day my head gets very itchy (which happens to be today) is also the day it starts actually looking good again post-washing.

So I can't decide what to do. Is the itchiness supposed to be part of the "poof" day when everything resolves itself? I can't really see that happening but maybe I am being one of the impatient ones who doesn't give this the full trial period. I was going to wash it after the gym today but I guess I will suck it up and deal with itchy scalp for another couple days and see if it does subside.

I've been doing the baking soda wash every Wednesday and Saturday since January 14th. I have had so many compliments and it's become so much of my routine that I don't want to go back to the old ways again! I do the baking soda with a few drops of lavender dr bronners and then the acv rinse with a little lemon juice because I want to lighten my hair. It's so easy to straighten my hair now with just a little anti-frizz product it takes me less than like 10 minutes. If I'm just on the go I let it air dry and brush it and it's shiny with nice waves and no frizz. I brush my hair every evening and morning and there's no more hairs coming out int he shower. This morning I did a acv rinse-only after my workout and combed it back and put it in a bun. Later I'll take it out and toss it with my fingers and it'll be fine.

I'm surprised you've only washed your hair 3 times since this began. I've done a couple of one washes a week, and that seemed a bit long for me. I wonder now if I should take out the Wednesday wash and only do it once a week.

I'm mainly putting it in for the smell, just a small drop or two, it doesn't suds up and it's not a detergent stripping my hair of the good oils

I meant I have used shampoo about 3 times since I started. I did that when I got to the point that my head was really itchy. My routine with the baking soda/acv was to use that every-other day and rinse with water on the other days.

[Edited on February 26, 2013 at 4:26 PM. Reason : if I'd only washed it 3 times period since early Jan I wouldn't question the itching ]

I always carry my bags way out of season when they're all beat up cause I get attached. But I decided it was time to at least toss the ones that are discolored or smell like beer.

So I now have no bag.

Had my first session of laser hair removal today from my groupon. Almost completely painless, staff was very polite, even though I showed up late with the monsoon we were having in the morning.

Everything went better than expected

don't get too excited about it being pain-free. the first session is like, quarter strength to see if your skin is going to fall off and die or turn weird colors. they keep turning the strength up with subsequent visits.

ahha! that makes a lot more sense now! Maybe bs/acv isn't right for you? I have my boyfriend using a mud wash that I found http://www.terressentials.com/haircare.html and he loves it. No need for acv because the pf doesn't need to be balanced. If your hair is used to being shampooed and you start the mud wash you will have to go through the detox and get your hair used to producing the right amount of oils. Also it's not soapy, doesn't suds up.

There's also shampoo bars out there on etsy that don't have detergents in them that might work also.

it's been about a month and a half using the no poo method. so far so good. I wash it about every other day. just depends on how gross it looks. i had to start using the moraccan oil or it didn't feel very soft but other than that no complaints. my scalp never got itchy or anything.

I just spent $100 online at Sephora on makeup and hair oil.

I got this: http://www.sephora.com/pequi-oil-treatment-P282930?skuId=1319045
and this: http://www.sephora.com/master-class-11-meet-the-masters-palette-P375452?skuId=1427251

+ some little freebies

I'm not the person that typically gets expensive makeup and clothes, so now I feel really guilty. This was probably dumb.

^^ I'm getting low on my current make-up supply and I just wasted about $20 on two foundations that I am allergic to. I figure that perhaps I can buy the more expensive stuff in the first place and forgo that problem. But spending money at all on this stuff makes me all weird.

(Though I have no issue spending $100 on a big sushi dinner with a friend, so I need to get over it.)

Yes. That is why it stays a want for me.

I always wanted girly looking NCSU stuff (without having it handmade) and I found one that is too expensive.

i'm on the hunt for a new everyday work bag since i'll be starting a new job and transitioning back into an office (after being homebased for about a month ) i will be taking the bus to work everyday so i need something that can carry my normal stuff (wallet, keys, phone, chapstick, sunglasses, etc) but also some other items like a cardigan and an umbrella.

i've been eyeing totes and satchels. i found this bag and really like it. i'm going to check it out in person this weekend. any other suggestions of brands/websites to check out? i've been scouting through ideeli, bluefly, gilt, hautelook, and ruelala everyday to check out the sales.

For me, it's gotta have a longer strap to put it on the shoulder - that looks like a tough fit.

Why would you want to get something light colored for everyday use on a bus?

FYI, drugstore.com has two $4 click-to-apply coupons for Venus 8 count razor blades. You can apply both of them, making it $12 for 8. They are usually over $20 in stores I think.
