Unless Ole Miss can get Norm Chow as OC, he'll be wearing red and white at State.

Then the games with UT become a little more interesting.

Again, Phish said it but maybe it didn't get across to everyone.

All coaches recruiting him will get an in-home. It wasn't like he called and asked Amato over for dinner. We're not the only school doing it

Wouldn't be surprised with that either. We're all better off forgetting about him... if we land him, all the better. I'm personally not going to shed any tears.... I'm sick of hearing about him

Shit, as much as I hate to say it, he was smart to wait so long. Going to VT will be a much better situation for him than NCSU. I can't blame him for doing what's best for him.

Besides, QB is just one of many problems we're gonna have to deal with next year.

BTW...since Marcus Vick got kicked off...now VT is all over Brent and we have about zero chance.

Brent will be in the SEC or Blacksburg before coming here. No need to have our hopes up this time.

College of Sequoias quarterback Brent Schaeffer has re-worked his official visit list again. After having his list down to one school earlier, the list expanded to two and now it is wide open again – at least as open as four schools can make a race.

Brent Schaeffer has removed K-State and added Virginia Tech to his list.
"I guess you could say that Brent has lost some interest in Kansas State," C.O.S. offensive coordinator Andy Siegal said. "It isn't because of Freeman coming, but I guess you could call it a mutual splitting of the ways. He isn't interested in them any longer and they aren't really interested in him."

With the Wildcats out of the running for the five-star rated prospect the list is still sitting at four schools for the Deerfield Beach, Fla., native.

"He called me this morning to tell me that there are four schools he is looking at," Siegal said. "He will go to one of these four; Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Ole Miss and N.C. State. I don't know what day he will visit Virginia Tech, but they are a new one for him. He has Ole Miss scheduled for this week and he has already been to N.C. State and Wisconsin.

"He had it down to Wisconsin. He was going there. Then K-State got back in the mix for him. Then he added the others back in. Ole Miss was out, I guess you could say, then they called and let him know that (Dan) Werner was going to be their new offensive coordinator. Werner and Art Kehoe are both coming to Ole Miss from Miami. He was pretty interested in them because of that, so they are still under consideration.

This season in Siegal's offense, Schaeffer threw for 2,976 yards with 40 touchdowns and six interceptions. Schaeffer also rushed for 854 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Schaeffer's teammate, Darius Passmore continues to be interested in the Wildcats according to Siegal.

"Last I heard from Darius was that he was visiting K-State the weekend of the 20th. I talked to Darius' step dad just the other day and he said that was still scheduled. He will be back here in a week or so, then I'll know everything he's up to again."

One Sequoias player that won't be signing any place this February is McIntosh Nicolas. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder won't be getting out this year.

"McIntosh Nicolas will be back here at Sequoias next year," Siegal said. "He just won't be done in time. He'll be back playing for us in 2006."

Things to consider:

-His interest on VTinsider.com is marked "low." What does this mean?

-Cold weather. This kid is from Florida. It might not seem like much, but I know the weather is one of the only reasons I didn't go to school there.

Things to consider:

- At VT you can give 14 year-old girls alcohol, tape them getting naked, and maybe even screw them and still play.

- At VT you can get pulled for speeding and have pot in the car and still be on the team.

As long as he acts like a normal athlete he'll be angel by VT standards.

We're not talking about their interest in him, which should be obvious enough given their current QB situation.

We're talking about his interest in going there.

As much as I would love for him to come here, i don't see why he would pass up the offer on VTech to come here. Granted VTech has colder weather, but they also have the oppertunity to play in the National Game within the next year or so. He could also fit right into their offensive scheme.

"

-That means nothing....all that is based on is he hasn't visited and no visit has been set. Its only been 3 days and they are already on the board...they had never even talked before the Vick situation. Now they have offered. A visit will be set soon enough.

-He has been looking at Wisconsin and K-State. I think he is to a point where he needs to be in the best situation to play and succeed so he can go to the NFL. He knows VT would have the best team around him (maybe Wisc. too) that has a favorible situation at QB. VT's competition at QB is probably weaker than ours. Wisconsin has a returning starter that just won a big bowl game with a lot of talent still on the team. Ole Miss just plan sucks...so he may not get much attention if they lose a lot. NCSU had a defense and now we have nothing...plus we have a returning starter that is 5-1.

We have about a 10% shot left maybe.....I'd give VT about 65%, Wisconsin 5%, Ole Miss 20%....we are in trouble...I thought we could top Ole Miss but with our D depleated and Marcus Stones Success...we are cooked.

^That helps but they still are pretty much garbage...He needs to be on a team that wins. I think if he goes there he just really wants to be in the SEC.

I still am hearing we have Shaeffer (Our staff thinks they do).... but that was before the VT thing.

I still say we're in the drivers seat. However, I no longer care. It'd be great to have him, but I'm so sick of following this guy's recruiting. There's no telling what's going on in that crazy mind of his.

Even though I think we're still his #1, I'd imagine Beamer will pull his typical negative recruiting tactics towards NC State (and everyone else) and we'll get left at the altar again. Move on....and maybe we'll be up for a surprise

^ I agree on that as well.

From what I understand, we've gotten a commitment (At least I've heard second-handedly). Then again, welcome to 2 years ago. I'm sure he's committed to Ole Miss and Wisconsin too.

I know that Ole Miss thinks he's there's to lose as well. Don't think Wiscy feels that way.. before VPI, it seemed to be a Miss/NCSU battle (And both think they have him)

He made a bad decision the first go around. His recruiting has been pretty straight-forward this time... he's checking out every option to the fullest.

We need the guy, but as long as he doesn't end up at VT (if he doesn't visit, no way they get him) then I'll be fine.
