Damon portraying Kirk is almost below him. The concept of Starfleet cadets going off on their first mission sounds more like a new series than a movie.

A DS9 movie would be terrible, even though i think it was the best series.

DS9 depended heavily on long story arcs and fleshing out the weaknesses and mistakes characters made. Frequently you had episodes ending with the good guy losing or doing something bad (ie Sisko pretty much allowing Garak to assassinate a Romulan). In 2 hours time you would have to somehow make up reasons for all the characters to be back on the station and have a good amount of plot in there..no way it could happen

^^ not completely DS9, let people have their TNG and Voyager characters, but they could definitely bring back Quark, Kira, O'Brien, Bashir, Ezri (though I hate her), and maybe work in an Odo/Sisko return...something with the Dominion stirring up trouble again, since the Klingons and Romulans have been passified

^Definitely. I've never been a big fan of prequels. I can't stomach Enterprise. I'd like to keep up with what's going on in the Alpha quadrant after the Dominion War is over. Starfleet, the Romulans and the Klingons are all weakened from the war, so there are a lot of interesting storylines that could come out of the major powers rebuilding, new races rising to power, etc...

Oh, wait, this thread is about the movie...uhhhhh...can't wait!
