i just got my 360 last week and i'm loving the hell out of it. geometry wars is amazing. the lost winter demo is great. gears of war/mass effect/99 nights look incredibly fun. DOA4/table tennis are great on live, and lets not forget CULDCEPT is coming out for it. it will be THE live game (at least for me). culdcept on PS2 is one of my favorite games of all time.

i'll get a PS3 for MGS4, gradius VI and GT5. i own every MGS, gradius and GT, and i'm stoked on the new ones.

to me it's about the games. who cares who makes what? the console "war" is a marketing gimmick used to generate threads like this one (think about all the free advertising we've done for each side in this thread alone). when a system has enough games i want, i put some money aside each week until i can grab it. i don't care about HD this or bluray that. all i care about is the fucking games. that's what it should be about.

so just buy fucking both, and if you aren't satisfied with one or the other, sell it on ebay. you'll probably make money.

for most ppl the threads like this are debating exactly what you just said. i like some of the games on the ps3, but that in no way makes it worth what it will cost to me (and many others). it just doesnt have a good enough proposed library yet.

and the hd/bluray type of thing will matter when one catches on because many families use the game console as an entry into the new media market. ps2 was pretty influential when it came to dvds really exploding (i know it was for my family).

While those weren't the finalized controllers for the PS3 itself, they felt much better than the ones that were at E3 (and were extremely easy to toggle between wired and wireless play). By unplugging the cable and pressing the PlayStation button on the controller for a second or two, we were able to engage the wireless feature. In fact, we also discovered during our multiplayer session that each controller was "smart" enough to recognize which system and what player it was initially connected to, regardless of the number of other controllers or systems in the room. This bodes well for massive LAN party play or co-op play with multiple controllers on the same system. Speaking of LAN play, all eight dev kits were connected over the PlayStation Network in real time, which exhibited no lag whatsoever. Part of that could've been due to the massive storage capacity of each system streaming game information in tandem: each dev kit held 80 gigabytes of storage, so the multiplayer match had approximately almost a terabyte of storage synched up over the Network to stream the alpha build and accurately model the multiplayer destruction of Full Auto 2. As for the PS3 menu, it was easy to pull up in-game by quickly pressing the PlayStation button, which popped up an overlaid menu on top of the screen. The PS3 menu seems to have taken a lot of its cues from the PSP, with user features, settings, friends and game menu items. The menu appears to be a lot cleaner and sharper than the PSP but has fewer icons on it. Granted, that could also be because it was still relatively early, but it doesn't mean that, like the PSP, other features could be added to it at a later point. We contacted Sony for additional details about the dev kits, but as of press time, representatives were unavailable for comment."
