oh and i put a new battery in yesterday, too. optima redtop FTW. the car has 120k miles and its still on the original battery. it tested at only half its CCA though so it was time.

I had to get new wiper blades because mine failed inspection

new spark plugs and cleaned K&N air filter on the CAI (entails removing left front wheel)...done on the side of the road

Hopefully this will remedy the engine misfiring situation; see: http://www.brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=429134

Of course, I'm not driving my car till Friday (good parking spot) so I won't know till then if it fixed it

fuckin cork gasket for my transmission pan started to leak so i went and bought a rubber gasket today. pulled the pan, removed old gasket, installed new and reinstalled pan. like bookwork, right? ha. not with my luck. poured the required 5 quarts into the dipstick tube. looked under the truck only to see the shit running out onto the ground. only thing i can think is somehow or another the fucking gasket folded when i put the pan up which doesn't make much sense since i put rtv on the pan to hold the gasket down. whatever. ill redo it in the morning. to make matters worse, i received the title for my new boat today and leave it sitting on the coffee table. come home from dinner to see half of it gone. i guess the fucking dog felt like i didn't give her enough dinner. what a fucking day.

on the brighter side, i found out i am going to be the father of a girl and i landed a 8.6 lbs. bass this am.

filed the points on the Rambler so it would crank (ran very well, too), charged up a couple of old batteries because I'm tired of trying to run 3 tractors and a car off of 1 or 2 half dead batteries. also made some contraptions to hopefully keep the deer out of my collards and turnips.

Went to work at the oyster bar, finished up a sheetrock project at a ladies house, and stared at my broken down bike...as I crawled back in bed with a nasty hangover from last night. I still feel like shit. And damn near got in another fight at The Goat. I guess I shouldn't stick my tongue in random girl's ears at the bar, huh?

S-dime needed some attention.

Flushed out that shitty ass Dexcool antifreeze. Shit had got contaminated and congealed. Took forever for the motor to puke up all that pink crap inside. Fucking GM and their shitty antifreeze. Replaced with the good old green stuff.

Fuel filter

Oil change

Chassis lube

Got the same winch on my TJ. Best deal for the money, I'd say. I asked because it doesn't look exactly like mine, and that Harbor Freight winch is allegedly a MileMarker with bushings instead of bearings.

Installed short shifter. quite a pain, but its pretty coo now. I used a modified Z3 shifter (understeer budget) w/ UUC DSSR and ERK. All real nice pieces and work together to make a relatively cheap ssk with pretty minimal notchiness and effort. no more rowing the boat, woot.

I put up a whiteboard on the wall at work today. Took 8 engineers and about 2 hours but by golly, we were able to use our brain power to put in 2 dry wall anchors and hang it up. That's a Holiday Hangover for yah. We accomplish so much on a Monday. Think I'll take the rest of the day off.

so one of my friends cut the end of his finger off one day. he was cutting something on a bandsaw and wasnt paying attention. anyhow he goes to the ER and gets bandaged up (couldnt sew it back on) and calls his wife. he said "honey i have some bad news, today i had an accident and cut off my finger". worried, she asked "the hole finger??"... he replied "no, the one next to it!"

replaced the timing belt, cam and crank seals, and valve cover gasket, and rebuilt the clutch master cylinder on Incognegros miata, and killed the enviroment by hosing down the engine which leaked a quart of oil a week with two cans of degreaser then hosing it off in the driveway, the whole yard smells like diesel fuel now
