I think you're probably right. And the fact that they died sucks terribly, but every once in a while you take a risk and you lose. Sucks that the stakes were so high.

I think some people don't understand war. Collateral damage happens. We don't all stand in lines and fire at one another like we used to prior to the American Revolution. We don't always wear uniforms and identify ourselves before we shoot. Sometimes civilians get killed. That sucks.

As a libertarian, I find this logic to be repugnant. Targetting civilians is always criminal, regardless of whether or not military targets exist. If the Israeli military is beyond reach then you reach it, if it is heavily protected then you find cracks, if you cannot find any cracks then you make some. At no point does indiscriminate killing become acceptable. If you are simply not sufficiently creative to attack anything but civilians then you do nothing, hold street protests, argue with with others, give lectures in New York, anything but kill innocent people.

Killing innocent people is counter-productive. You have admitted to yourself that you cannot defeat Israel militarily, you need to defeat it another way, either by convincing the Israeli's they have done wrong or by convincing a larger power that they have done wrong, both of which are impossible while innocent blood is on your hands.

They don't care if the people get aid. It's like slowly but surely they are hitting every single area in Lebanon. Man, the areas with those bridges are some of the best and most beautiful places you will ever see in your life. I won't be surprised if they hit the Casino of Lebanon saying that Hezbollah was inside playing texas hold'em. By the way, one of the bridges destroyed today was 100 meters from that casino.
