I thought that was really well done, particularly the part where Hughley's character, Simon, straight up told the n00b that he couldn't fuck up.

this is definitely, unequivocally, one of the best television shows on this season. aaron sorkin is a great writer --

and hell, after having worked in TV for a couple years, this stuff is *spot on*.

I am sick of people comparing 30 Rock to Studio 60. Studio 60 is categorized as a drama ie not a sitcom. Sure it has some laughs but its not meant to be setup, punchline.

Lost is better than The Rachel Ray Show.

See how two shows don't have to be similar for one to be clearly better than the other?

30 rock and studio 60 are relatable...

both shows have numbers in their titles denoting how many minutes eash show is in length

god this show sucks, its like taking all the bad parts from other shows and putting them together. how sappy was last week's show? i felt like i was watching some regurgitated 80's drama. jesus herbert christ, who would have guessed that the old man was an ex-cast member?!?!

yeah he was a writer that got blacklisted after getting one sketch on the show, and there was a parallel between him and matt, in that the reason they wrote well was to impress a chick.

Not THE show. Just a show that preceded Matt and Danny's show. But yeah, you got it.

nbc isn't going to have pre-scripted sitcoms or dramas for the first hour of primetime in a cost-saving measure.

"NBC Chief Says 'Studio 60' Will Stay
NBC Universal CEO Robert Wright has denied reports that Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is about to be canceled. In an interview with FoxNews.com's Roger Friedman, who originally quoted insiders as saying that the show was about to be yanked from the network's schedule, Wright said such a move was unlikely because "We have too much money invested in it. ... I think it will go on." "

Because I'm a busy man, okay? I don't have time to watch this shit. But I will watch it. I'll watch every shitty episode. I'll watch it until it's canceled.

Seriously, if that shit gets canceled, we are gonna TEAR IT UP at my house. I'm talking strippers, mountains of yak, the whole nine yards.

Hey, wasn't Matthew Perry in The Whole Nine Yards? Amanda Peet, too! THIS IS A SIGN.

hmmm, lets think here. Sign, Signs, Mel Gibson starred in Signs, Mel Gibson was also in Unbreakable with Sam Jackson. Now, Sam Jackson was in Die Hard 3 with Bruce Willis who was in THE WHOLE NINE YARDS! SOMETHINGS GOING ON HERE!

The Seventh Sign starred Demi Moore who was married to Bruce Willis who was, once again, in The Whole Nine Yards.

from that article:
Quote :
"This week, NBC chose not to air it at all, instead showing the baseball film Friday Night Lights. "

ha.

also:

Quote :
"Among them is Aaron Barnhardt of the Kansas Star. "If NBC were so eager to have Sorkin back," he wrote in his column yesterday, "it should have renewed The West Wing.""

the west wing was garbage after sorkin left it.

Fucking excellent so far. I'm so pissed they're probably gonna cancel this.

("I'm so pissed" LOL...I'm not really...now that I'm not a teen, I gotta get used to my shows getting the can...meh, I've watched my parents go through it and never really understood because Dawson's Creek/90210 didn't get cancelled in their first year, you know...)

they are not cancelling it. that article was a rumor, and it has been confirmed by NBC that it will not be cancelled in the near future. it is also growing a following.

In the days of DVDs, once the first season is released, the second seasons ratings will pick up.

why dont they try swapping timeslots with heroes or something? heroes is extremely popular already and wouldn't suffer from the later timeslot, so maybe people would be more inclined to check out studio 60 if it were on sooner.

i'm glad that they didn't leave friday night lights on mondays at least. that would be dumb airing a football tv show in direct competition with monday night football.

Wait, if TV Shows are not allowed to use "Jesus Christ" as an expletive then how was the last Studio 60 episode made?

I ask because this wouldn't be the first time it has been used that way on TV.

I didn't read all the way through, so if this was already posted, I apologize...

Studio 60 has been picked up for a full season of episodes. So at the very least this (excellent) show will survive through this year.
