We simply do not have the talent to compete in the ACC this year. Costner and Fells will be very good, but not the first year they get legit burn. UNC is clearly the class of the ACC and shouldnt lose more than 1, hopefully to us! We should get 6-7 bids which leaves the VA teams on the bubble. Maryland could be stronger but I expect the heat on the seat of GWill to only get hotter. Georgia Tech and Duke are real wildcard National Contenders. They both need there new guys to step up and play excellent. Duke's lack of backcourt depth slips them to 3 behind a deep BC led by Jared Dudley.

after tonight....hell i don't know. that last place forecast by the media might not be too far fetched. i know it was the first game against live competition and all...but damn, we looked just horrid at times.

i was pleased by the 20-0 run to end the first half, but then we came out flat as hell in the 2nd. at times it looked like the guys really didn't know what was supposed to be happening on offense. defense looked pretty lax most of the game unless NSU was in the lead, then they seemed to tighten up and go on a quick run.

grant stepped up big, fells just shot ice cold, mccauley played solid but he needs to work on getting his shot/dunk off quicker. sometimes he dribbles once or pivots when he doesnt need to and lets the D get there. costner looked lost and lazy for most of the game. neiman was a good spark with at least three 3's off the bench. REALLY NEED atsur back. albritton cannot play against decent competition and we don't need to stick grant bringing the ball up the court every offensive set. he played about 39 minutes tonight too.

oh well, hopefully it gets better over the next couple exhibitions and early season games. at least we won.

UNC lost their first game the year they won the National Championship.

We didnt have Atsur and we're young.

We're gonna have some bad nights but we're gonna play hard and people are going to take us lightly. At least we know we are going to COMPETE hard unlike the past few seasons.

^^^^ never said there was any conspiracy, i figured i'd at least give them the benefit of the doubt and wait till i saw some live action.

^^^ not panicking at all, there were some good things tonight but there was a lot of bad. and it was a D-II school we were playing against. i know atsur's out but the team as a whole just seemed i dunno, sleepy i guess all night. hopefully they can get fired up for regular season games. i think gettin atsur back will provide the leadership they need beyond just grant though.

We just don't have enough talent....if Atsur is out for a while then we are in trouble. I think Ferguson's 1st game is against Alabama or something so he will miss 6 games or so.

Our main weakness is inside, we have nothing on the bench and Horner is a wing and cannot be forced inside.
