anyone make a widebody kit (that doesn't look ricer as hell) so one could fit some decent sized wheels/tires under an e30?

youre gonna put a $6k+ motor and tranny w/ hard to find (and $$$$$$) parts in a $2k car?

whats your budget and plan/goal?

The project has phases.
Basically i'm going to use the stock motor and a stand alone for while and learn to tune then if i don't blow it up move to something nicer.
I want the light weight of the car and the sneakiness.

I still haven't really decided. I already have a d.d. and i can walk to work so that stuff really isn't a concern... i just want something to tinker on...
It'll either be a 60s mustang or an e30 or an 95 imprezza w/ sti swap
all of which would be stand alone efi because i want to learn how to program fuel injection.

props to my 270k E30 track mongrel surviving another HPDE Winning weekend.

i got a new ric0r steering wheel w/ some dish to space it toward me so i could move my seat back. I also got a pedal cover set and put on the brake pedal cover w/ some washers behind it to space the pedal up higher. left the gas pedal cover off. now my relative pedal heights are much better under hard braking and i'm in heel-toe nirvana.

ergonomics FTMFW. its a whole new car to drive. i can't shut up about what a change these things made to the whole experience.

Hey

I miss mine, it's still sitting at my parent's house in charlotte when I have a perfectly good garage for it now in raleigh. I just need to stop being lazy and get my ass to charlotte and bring her home.

I could not imagine an e30 ever needing more than 300hp. It would be sweet if it didn't have the twin turbos on that M5 engine.

Ever decide what youre going to do with it? Kind of put the far of god in me to not void the warranty in anyway. At least i have until 2012 before mine can crap a ring and I get overly upset.

Not yet. It was stressing me out, so I decided just to let it sit in the garage until the new year.

If I were to picture myself driving one of these, it would have to be to the music of:
Huey Lewis
Phil Collins
Billy Ocean
The Cure
The Cult
etc.

My rotors are warped as hell. Can anything bad happen as a result of that or does it just make it suck to stop?

Oh yeah, well somebody put a Veyron on track @Road Atlanta with chin. Suck on that.

Besides, we have like 300 decent tracks, and collectively they're better than Laguna Seca... Oh hell, I'll come drive
your stinking Laguna Seca too. How's next Monday? <3 xoxo

But essentially- h&r race springs, bilstein sport shock, 2750 wet weight w/ driver, stock drivetrain, open ecu.

Time more than anything. No time to replace them myself and my S2k is crippled so I need to get it fixed before I drop the BMW off at Shadetree.

if you have heat spots on the rotor, then it will shake bad. then it will transfer it to your pads. and your pads will be uneven.

turn them. pad deposits may also be there.

it will shake

I'll do something eventually. It has been that way for at least 25k miles now, so it's probably time for new rotors/pads to start from scratch. It just keeps getting worse.

finally put the slave cylinder in the e30 318is and it is road bound again, time to get a chip for it to breath a little more life into the car. after that, its time to switch the e30 for the e36 in charlotte and pull the head.

At least 200k since it's in an e30.

certainly if it was stock. The one i just rebuilt had 270k on it and was working fine except for a shot pinion bearing. The other bearings and even clutches looked ok.

I'm questioning my diff rebuild skills If i screwed up itll chew itself to shit in no time.
