How much does a damn apple cost? Wheat bread? Peanuts? Carrots? Cheese? Maybe lots of shit is unhealthy, but you gotta be kidding me if you say people can pay for enough food to be obese but can't afford decent healthy choices from the basic food groups.

I'd think between 12 years of school, public libraries, and the internet, they could've learned something about what they eat.2/15/2007 1:52:54 PM |

Quote : | "That analogy is not quite accurate. Neither alcohol nor guns are needed by every living person to continue living. You have to eat to live." |
The analogy is plenty accurate. It has to do with people focusing on inantimate objects (food, etc) rather than the root of the problem itself. There's plenty of healthy cheap food out there, people are just too lazy to worry about finding out what it is or taking the time to prepare it. They'd rather just hop in the car and drive to McDonald's than cook up a meal at home that is healthier for less money. That way they can get back to playing their video games in a shorter amount of time.
Are people going to start blaming traffic accidents on cars? How about blaming traffic accidents on roads? Almost all of them happen on roads.
Know anything about AA? Know why it's so successful? Because it focuses on solving YOUR OWN problem, rather than blaming the liquor or beer one drinks to support their habit.
In short, no problem is EVER going to be solved by moving to ban/regulate/restrict/tax inantimate objects or commodities.2/16/2007 9:24:01 AM |

dependant on the road yes, people do blame roads for good reason. And AA's success rate is not very good.2/16/2007 9:33:09 AM |
